    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services.According to the present invention, a method for connecting a first device in a short-range wireless communication system comprises the steps of: transmitting, to a second device, a discovery signal including a connection information request; receiving, from the second device, a discovery response signal including information on a third device connected with the second device; and establishing a connection with the third device on the basis of the discovery response signal.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a technology for a sensor network, a machine to machine (M2M), a machine type communication (MTC), and internet of things (IoT).     Abstract: An apparatus and a method for measuring distance by using electronic devices are provided. The apparatus includes an output unit, an input unit, and a controller. The output unit may be configured to transmit the first sound wave, and the input unit may be configured to receive the second sound wave from another apparatus that receives the first sound wave. The controller may be configured to determine the distance between the apparatus and the another apparatus based on a first value and a second value.
