Abstract: A display device includes a luminance correction unit that corrects input data based on a dimming code value and outputs correction data, a gamma correction unit that corrects the correction data and generates output data, a gamma voltage generator that generates gamma voltages depending on a first voltage code value, a data driver that converts the output data into data voltages based on the gamma voltages, and a controller that supplies the dimming code value and the input data to the luminance correction unit and provides the first voltage code value to the gamma voltage generator. The controller compares a highest dimming compares a highest dimming grayscale value of the output data determined by the dimming code value with a highest reference grayscale value and updates the first voltage code value with a second voltage code value.

Abstract: A display apparatus includes a display panel, an afterimage compensator and a data driver. The display panel displays an image. The afterimage compensator writes first stress data of input image data corresponding to a first area to a first memory area in a first block size and second stress data of the input image data corresponding to a second area to a second memory area in a second block size different from the first block size and compensates a grayscale value of the input image data based on the first stress data and the second stress data. The data driver generates a data voltage based on a compensated grayscale value and outputs the data voltage to the display panel.

Abstract: A display device includes a frame frequency detector, a data generator, a data driver, and a plurality of pixels. The frame frequency detector is configured to detect a varied frame frequency to generate frame frequency information. The data generator is configured to receive an image signal and the frame frequency information, confirm an expanded frame period exceeding a reference frame period in one frame from the frame frequency information, and correct an image data signal corresponding to the image signal to correspond to a luminance changed according to the expanded frame period. The data driver is configured to output a data voltage corresponding to the image data signal. The plurality of pixels is configured to emit luminance corresponding to the data voltage. The reference frame period is a period in which the plurality of pixels is configured to emit light with a constant luminance corresponding to the data voltage.

Abstract: A method of image processing includes determining a supplement pixel and original pixels adjacent to the supplement pixel, deriving luminance data of the original pixels from input image data, calculating a difference value among the luminance data of the original pixels, selecting an original pixel of the original pixels as an effective pixel when the difference value of luminance data of the original pixel and a nearest original pixel to the supplement pixel is smaller than a predetermined threshold value, setting a weighted value of the effective pixel based on a distance between the supplement pixel and the effective pixel, and calculating luminance data of the supplement pixel based on luminance data of the effective pixel and the weighted value.
