Abstract: The embodiments relate to a process for preparing a polythiol composition, which comprises reacting a halogen compound or an alcohol compound with thiourea to prepare a thiouronium salt solution; and adding a basic solution to the thiouronium salt solution to hydrolyze it. The hydrolysis reaction is terminated when the area of peak A in the graph measured by gel permeation chromatography of the reactant in the hydrolysis step under certain conditions is 0.5% to 8% based on the total peak area. A tetrafunctional polythiol composition having high purity can be obtained. Thus, an optical lens having excellent color, transparency, and refractive index can be obtained.

Abstract: An isocyanate composition is prepared from an amine composition, which comprises (a) 99% to less than 100% by weight of m-xylylenediamine; (b) greater than 0% to 0.5% by weight of p-xylylenediamine; and (c) greater than 0% to 0.5% by weight of at least one selected from the group consisting of benzylamine, 4-methylbenzylamine, and 4-cyanobenzylamine. Therefore, the isocyanate composition used in the preparation of a polythiourethane can be controlled to a specific composition in the synthesis thereof, which makes it possible to conveniently produce an optical lens with a high quality.

Abstract: Embodiments relate to a polymerizable composition comprising a phosphorus-based mold releasing agent for an optical use whose preparation process is improved, and a process for preparing the phosphorus-based mold releasing agent. The phosphorus-based mold releasing agents can be prepared more easily and conveniently by using phosphorous pentoxide, which can easily react with a monoalcohol and/or water at room temperature in the absence of a catalyst or a solvent. In addition, byproducts are not generated during the reaction. Thus, when a lens is produced by using the mold release agent obtained therefrom, it is possible to prevent a defective appearance of the lens that may be caused by byproducts, thereby further enhancing the appearance properties thereof. Further, since separate steps for removing byproducts, specifically, such steps as washing and filtration, are not required, wastewater is not generated. Thus, it is not only environmentally friendly, but the production cost can also be reduced as the process is simple.
