The present disclosure relates to a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the 5G communication technology and the IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. Embodiments herein provide a method for performing a routing ID (RID) update in user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network.
Abstract:
A method for a data session switching by a User Equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes monitoring network broadcasted parameters of a second Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) of the UE while performing a Fifth Generation Cellular Network (5G) data session over a first SIM of the UE, where the first SIM is configured for a Default Data Service (DDS), detecting that a trigger criterion is met for the 5G data session switching to the second SIM based on the network broadcasted parameters, and in response to the trigger criterion being met, configuring the second SIM for the DDS for continuing the 5G data session over the second SIM.

Provided is a methods and apparatus for accessing New Radio (NR) services in a multi-RAT dual connectivity (DC). A method includes: selecting an anchor band cell as a primary cell for a User Equipment (UE) to access NR services in an Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN)-NR dual connectivity (ENDC). The method also includes prioritizing anchor band cells for the UE to perform cell search or cell reselection in the ENDC scenario. The method further includes selecting an NR DC band cell as the primary cell for the UE to access NR DC services in an NR DC. The method further includes prioritizing the NR DC band cells for the UE to perform cell search or cell reselection in the NR DC scenario, when the UE is an RRC idle state.

A method and user equipment for handling a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) selection in a mobile communication network is provided. The method includes obtaining, by a User Equipment (UE), a PLMN list of one or more Radio Access Technologies (RATs) comprising a list of available PLMNs, when the UE performs a Manual Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) selection, initiating a PLMN list validation timer, and reusing the previously obtained PLMN list, when at least one predefined event is triggered and the PLMN list validation timer is running. The at least one predefined event comprises at least one of Home Public Land Mobile Network (HPLMN) timer expiration, a manual PLMN selection, the manual CSG selection, and autonomous CSG selection.

A method of reducing delay in Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) in a Radio Access Technology (RAT) communications network. The method includes initiating, by a terminal, a combined attach procedure by sending an attach request message to the RAT communications network, receiving, by the terminal, an attach accept message along with Location Area Identification (LAI) information from the network in response to the attach request message, checking, by the terminal, network identifier information in a RAT information table based on the received LAI, and selecting a mobile network based on the network identifier information to trigger establishment of a circuit-switched call.

A method for a data session switching by a User Equipment (UE) is provided. A method of operating an electronic device includes determining initiation of a voice call on a first Subscriber Identity Module (SIM), while availing first data services through the first SIM. The initiation of a voice call leads to a fallback from a first Radio Access Technology (RAT). A Default Data Subscription/Service (DDS) is set to the first SIM. Further, the method includes registering with a first network through a second SIM, in response to determining the second SIM is registered with a second network with a second RAT. The method includes availing the first data services from the second SIM that is registered with the first network, while engaging in the voice call on the first SIM.

Embodiments herein provide a method for communication by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication network. The method comprises: determining a failure in transmission of a uplink non-access stratum (UL NAS) transport message, determining whether the failure in the transmission of the UL NAS transport message is due to a Tracking Area identity (TAI) change from lower layers, and handling the failure in the transmission of the UL NAS transport message based on a TAI list sent from the wireless communication network, in response to determining that the failure in the transmission of the UL NAS transport message is due to the TAI change from the lower layers.

Embodiments herein disclose a method for mitigating a temperature of an electronic device. The method includes determining, by the electronic device, the temperature of the electronic device, while a plurality of applications are executed on the electronic device, wherein each of the applications from the plurality of applications is associated with a first RAT. Further, the method includes detecting, by the electronic device, that the temperature of the electronic device meets thermal mitigation criteria. Further, the method includes mitigating, by the electronic device, the temperature of the electronic device by switching the application from the plurality of applications from the first RAT to a second RAT in response to detecting that the temperature of the electronic device meets the thermal mitigation criteria.

Embodiments herein disclose a method for managing SOR information by UE in an automatic network selection mode in a wireless communication network. The method includes receiving the SOR information from one of a first VPLMN and a HPLMN and determining whether a SOR information security check is successful and the UE is camped on one of the first VPLMN and the HPLMN and performing one of: continuing to receive services from the HPLMN on determining that the UE is camped on the HPLMN irrespective of the SOR information security check, continuing to receive services from the first VPLMN on determining that the UE is camped on the first VPLMN and that the SOR information security check is successful, and automatically triggering a registration to a second VPLMN available on determining that the UE is camped on the first VPLMN and that the SOR information security check is unsuccessful.
