Abstract: A method and device for processing an audio output in consideration of the hearing characteristics of a user and the characteristics of an audio device connected to an electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a user interface; an audio interface configured to establish a connection to an audio device, a memory, and at least one processor electrically connected to the user interface, the memory, and the audio interface, wherein the at least one processor is configured to acquire at least one of identification information of the audio device and characteristics of the audio device, select audio adaptation information, change an audio signal, at least partially based on the audio adaptation information, and transmit the changed audio signal to the audio device.

The electronic device includes a microphone, a communication module, a memory, and a processor configured to establish a first communication link with a first external electronic device through the communication module, establish a second communication link with a second external electronic device through the communication module, acquire a microphone input signal by operating the microphone based on receiving a recording request from the first external electronic device, monitor a transmission environment with the communication module or the second external electronic device, determine a bit rate of audio, based on the transmission environment, encode the audio, based on the determined bit rate, and transmit the encoded audio data to the first external electronic device.

Abstract: An audio output device according to an embodiment may include: a short-range communication module configured to perform short-range wireless communication; a memory configured to buffer audio data received from an external electronic device through the short-range communication module; an audio output unit configured to output the audio data; and a processor. The processor may be configured to: receive operation mode information related to a function being executed in the external electronic device from the external electronic device through the short-range communication module; configure a reference period corresponding to an amount of the audio data buffered in the memory based on the operation mode information; and determine a playback speed of the audio data to be output through the audio output unit by comparing the amount of the buffered audio data with the configured reference period. In addition, various other embodiments may be possible.

Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a communication circuit, a speaker, a microphone, a memory, and a processor. The processor is configured to determine whether there is auditory data stored in the memory of the electronic device when an external electronic device is connected thereto through the communication circuit, send a request for auditory data to the external electronic device when there is no auditory data stored in the memory, receive the auditory data from the external electronic device, correct data, at the electronic device, about the sound received through the microphone using the auditory data, receive corrected audio data from the external electronic device, synthesize the corrected data about the sound and the corrected audio data received from the external device to obtain first synthesized data, and output a first new sound corresponding to the first synthesized data through the speaker.

Abstract: An electronic device and a sound signal processing method for improving sound perception of a hearing-impaired user are provided. The electronic device of the present disclosure includes a sound input unit comprising sound input circuitry configured to detect a sound and to convert the sound into a first sound signal and a processor which is electrically connected to the sound input unit, the processor configured to receive the first sound signal and to perform a predetermined signal processing on the first sound signal to generate a second sound signal, wherein the signal processing includes detecting a frequency band with a level equal to or greater than a predetermined value in a first frequency band above a predetermined cutoff frequency of the first sound signal, generating harmonic signals including a plurality of frequency bins that are identical in level with a signal in the detected frequency band, and overlapping the harmonic signals with the first sound signal.
