Abstract:
A display panel includes input power supply line coupled to a power supply at one or more edge portions of the display panel, and an output power supply line coupled to the input power supply line at a predetermined portion of the display panel. The input power supply line receives the power supply voltage, and the output power supply line receives the power supply voltage from the input power supply line. The power supply is coupled to the output power supply line at the one or more edge portions of the display panel, and receives the power supply voltage from the output power supply line to adjust a voltage level of the power supply voltage based on the power supply voltage from the output power supply line. The predetermined portion is at a location different from an edge of the display panel.
Abstract:
An organic light emitting display includes a plurality of pixels and a timing controller. The timing controller accumulates emission luminance values during a plurality of frames. The timing controller then supplies a reset signal to the pixels to respectively set non-emission periods for a plurality of subfields when the accumulated emission luminance value exceeds a reference value.
Abstract:
A method of digitally driving an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display is disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes calculating a first power consumption of a data driver for a first frame while first data bits are input to the data driver. The first data bits are input to the data driver in a data bit input order. The method also includes modifying the data bit input order and inputting second data bits to the data driver for a second frame in the modified data bit input order when the first power consumption is greater than a threshold power consumption.
Abstract:
A method of driving a display device includes a writing operation and a reading operation. The writing operation includes writing first to Mth frame data in a first frame memory during first to Mth frame periods. The reading operation includes reading (L−M)th and (L−M+1)th frame data among the first to Mth frame data from the first frame memory during an Lth frame period. M may be three or more, and L may be an integer ranging from (M+1) to (2M−1). The frame data read from the first frame memory corresponds to an image to be displayed. Reading and writing operations are further performed for remaining ones of the frame memories.
Abstract:
A driver for a display panel includes a driving time accumulator, a ditherer, and a data signal generator. The driving time accumulator determines an accumulated driving time of the display panel. The ditherer determines an amount of dither based at least in part on the accumulated driving time, and performs a dithering operation on input image data with the determined amount of dither. The data signal generator generates a data signal for the display panel based at least in part on the input image data on which the dithering operation is to be performed.
Abstract:
A display device includes a timing controller for controlling the display of an image. The timing controller forms a frame for an image signal based on a main frame, a compensation frame, and at least one blank frame. The timing controller also determines a driving method for the display pixels to generate output image data. The main frame serves to display the image signal. The compensation frame serves to compensate luminance of the main frame. The blank frame serves to express a black gray scale value.
Abstract:
A display device which includes a substrate having a pixel unit that receiving first and second voltages is disclosed. In one aspect, the first and second power lines are coupled to the first and second voltages, and are supplied to the pixel unit via first and second power pads. In some aspects, the first and second power pads are alternately disposed while being spaced apart from each other in at least a portion of the peripheral area, and the second power pads are disposed in the space between the respective first power pads.
Abstract:
A method of driving a display device includes calculating an average load and an asymmetry by analyzing an input image data, and adjusting at least one of a high data voltage and a low data voltage, which are supplied to a display panel of the display device, based on the average load and the asymmetry.
Abstract:
A method of digital-driving an organic light emitting display device includes analyzing a light emission pattern of the input image data and converting a third grayscale of the input image data into a first converted grayscale and a second converted grayscale based on an analysis result of the light emission pattern of the input image data.
Abstract:
A method of displaying a stereoscopic image and a display device are disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes sequentially writing black data to a portion of the pixel rows during a portion of a first frame period and sequentially writing left eye image data to the pixel rows during the remaining portion of the first frame period and during a second frame period. The method also includes driving the pixel rows to simultaneously emit light during a first emission period, sequentially writing the black data to the portion of the pixel rows during a portion of a third frame period, and sequentially writing right eye image data to the pixel rows during the remaining portion of the third frame period and during a fourth frame period. The method further includes driving the pixel rows to simultaneously emit light during a second emission period corresponding to the fourth frame period.
