Abstract: A method of wireless communication includes, in response to a trigger event detected at a first base station, performing, by the first base station, a scan of a plurality of frequencies for a synchronization signal block (SSB) transmission from a second base station. The plurality of frequencies correspond to a plurality of global synchronization channel numbers (GSCNs) associated with the first base station and the second base station. The first base station is associated with a first coverage area that is at least partially within a second coverage area associated with the second base station. The method further includes transmitting, by the first base station, one or more SSBs having an SSB configuration that is based on a result of the scan.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications network may operate in accordance with an open-RAN (ORAN) network specification which may support functional splitting between the ORAN distributed unit (O-DU) and the ORAN radio unit (RU) located at a base station. The O-DU may communicate with the O-RU using control messaging, and the O-DU may signal whether various resource block groups are used for data allocation by enabling or disabling bits in a bit mask parameter in a header of the control message. To increase communications efficiency and reduce overhead, the O-DU may dynamically configure the number of bits included in a bit mask based on a radio access technology (RAT) type. The O-DU may determine the size of the bit mask in the control message based on the RAT type and may generate the control message that includes the bit mask.

Abstract: An open radio access network (O-RAN) may include a control unit that communicates with a core network, a distributed unit that communicates with the control unit, a radio unit that communicates with the distributed unit and a user equipment (UE). Currently, the O-RAN may lack support for static configuration for a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) communication of message-A in a third generation partnership project (3GPP) two-step random access procedure. Hence, according to some aspects of the disclosure, the distributed unit may receive, from a radio unit, a static configuration support indication for receiving payload data via a message in a two-step random access procedure, the message including a preamble and the payload data. The distributed unit may further transmit, in response to receiving the static configuration support indication, static configuration information to the radio unit, the static configuration information for receiving the payload data communicated via the message.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for power saving through discontinuous reception (DRX) in multiple subscriber identity module (multi-SIM) user equipment (UE). A method that may be performed by a UE includes determining a first DRX configuration associated with a first SIM and a second DRX configuration associated with a second SIM are asynchronous, generating, based on the first DRX configuration and the second DRX configuration, a synchronous DRX configuration for communicating with the first SIM and the second SIM, transmitting, to a first base station (BS) associated with the first SIM and to a second BS associated with the second SIM, an indication of the synchronous DRX configuration, and communicating with the first BS using the first SIM and the second BS using the second SIM in accordance with the synchronous DRX configuration.
