    Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive an indication of a non-uniform density associated with a phase-tracking reference signal (PT-RS). Accordingly, the UE may transmit, or receive, within a slot, wherein the slot includes the PT-RS at the non-uniform density across a plurality of symbols of the slot. For example, the non-uniform density may be applied based on an offset between the slot and a previous downlink slot including a demodulation reference signal. Numerous other aspects are described.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit a first random access preamble to a base station and may transmit a payload associated with the first random access preamble via a first random access message as part of a two-step random access procedure. The base station may receive the first random access message and attempt to detect the first random access preamble. The base station may identify multiple random access preamble indices based on a detected random access preamble and may perform multiple decoding attempts on the payload portion of the first random access message using the multiple random access preamble indices. The base station may perform the multiple decoding attempts sequentially until one decoding attempt is successful or may perform the multiple decoding attempts in parallel.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some examples, a base station may recover a UE from a Msg3 failure during an RA procedure. During the RA procedure, the base station may transmit a RAR message to the UE and in response to the RAR message the UE may transmit an uplink message (e.g., Msg3) to the base station over a first resource indicated in the RAR message. If the base station fails to decode or receive the uplink message over the first resource, the base station may transmit a grant to the UE indicating a second resource for retransmitting the uplink message and the UE may retransmit uplink message to the base station according to the grant.

    Abstract: In one aspect of the disclosure, a method for wireless communication performed by base station includes receiving a first system information block of type 1 (SIB1) transmitted by a second base station.
