Abstract: A first device may establish, with a second device, a logical link associated with short-range communications. The first device may receive a first packet carried on the logical link. When the first PDU data fails the decoding check, the first device may determine, based on the logical link, a first operational mode from a plurality of operational modes for error correction, the first device may receive a set of retransmission packets on the logical link, each of the set of retransmission packets including respective PDU data that is a retransmission of the first PDU data, and the first device may apply, based on the first PDU data included in the first packet and the respective PDU data included in each of the set of retransmission packets, the first operational mode for error correction.

Abstract: According to various aspects, techniques to enable implicit and/or explicit transmit (Tx) beamforming in a wireless personal area network are provided. In particular, the implicit transmit beamforming may be enabled during certain events, frames, and/or other conditions when a channel between a beamformer and a beamformee is reciprocal (i.e., packets are received and transmitted on the same frequency). In such cases, the beamformer may estimate channel state information (CSI) based on a packet received from the beamformee and use the estimated CSI to steer a beam in a direction towards the beamformee. In use cases that implement explicit transmit beamforming, the beamformee may estimate the CSI based on a packet received from the beamformer and provide the estimated CSI to the beamformer, which may then use the estimated CSI received from the beamformee to steer a beam in a direction towards the beamformee.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a wireless device for Bluetooth Low Energy technology utilizes interlaced advertising and scanning on a same advertising channel to improve power efficiency. In an embodiment, a device transmits an advertising packet on an advertising channel, waits for an inter frame space, listens for any connection request or scan request during a listening time slot, and upon not receiving a connection request or scan request, begins a scanning window on the same advertising channel to listen to advertising packets. If no advertising packets are received, the advertising channel is incremented and the process of interlaced advertising and scanning begins again.
