Abstract: A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving, from a base station, a receive chain switching configuration for a multi-carrier environment. The UE also receives a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) on one or more carriers of the multi-carrier environment with multiple receive chains, in accordance with the receive chain switching configuration. The UE decodes downlink control information (DCI) from the PDCCH for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) scheduling across multiple carriers in the multi-carrier environment. The UE performs receive chain switching based on the PDSCH scheduling from the decoded DCI and the receive chain switching configuration.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for a CSI report setting that hastens CSI feedback for SVD-based precoding. More specifically, a UE may receive a configuration from a base station for a CSI report setting for providing DL interference feedback to the base station. The configuration may include information indicating a measurement resource on which an interference measurement is performed for generating the DL interference feedback. The UE may transmit a SRS and the DL interference feedback to the base station, the DL interference feedback being independent of the SRS, such that the UE may receive pre-committed CSI-RS from the base station based on the transmitted SRS and DL interference feedback.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, an indication of a monitoring window used by the base station to monitor for uplink transmissions from the UE. The UE may receive a control signal scheduling uplink resources for an uplink transmission by the UE on at least a first component carrier, the first component carrier in a first radio frequency spectrum band. The UE may reconfigure, in response to the received control signal, a first transmit chain of the UE from a second component carrier in a second radio frequency spectrum band to the first component carrier in the first radio frequency spectrum band for the uplink transmission. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the indicated monitoring window and using at least the reconfigured first transmit chain, the uplink transmission on the first component carrier using the scheduled uplink resources.

Abstract: Channel covariance feedback is disclosed for enhanced full-dimension multiple input, multiple output (eFD-MIMO) systems. Channel state information (CSI) reference signal (CSI-RS) feedback operations are implemented using spatial covariance feedback of a covariance estimate. After obtaining a set of orthogonal basis vectors, a user equipment (UE) measures the CSI-RS from a base station and determines the spatial covariance matrix from the signal. The UE may then compress the spatial covariance matrix into a lower-dimension covariance estimate matrix using the orthogonal basis vectors. The lower-dimension matrix along with element-wise quantization allows for feedback of spatial covariance for eFD-MIMO systems without excessive feedback overhead.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques at a user equipment (UE) provide for efficiently reporting channel state information (CSI) to a base station with an appropriate level of accuracy. In particular, the base station may indicate a level of accuracy to the UE for reporting CSI. The UE may encode the CSI using a first neural network, and the base station may decode the CSI using a second neural network. The first and second neural networks may form a neural network pair, and the UE may train the neural network pair based on the level of accuracy indicated by the base station. For example, the base station may indicate a loss function corresponding to a level of accuracy with which CSI is to be reported by the UE, and the UE may train the neural network pair using the loss function.
