Abstract: A method of wireless communication includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a system information block of type 21 (SIB21) from a network device. The SIB21 indicates a communication resource pool associated with a sidelink. The method further includes receiving one or more messages from the network device based on receiving the SIB21 and prior to communicating using the communication resource pool. The method further includes communicating, based on verifying an identity of the network device based on the one or more messages, via the sidelink using the communication resource pool and based on a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) wireless communication protocol.

Abstract: Various embodiments include methods, components and wireless devices configured to identify illegitimate base station. The processor of the wireless device may determine that a device in communication with the wireless device is a suspect base station. The processor may send a fabricated message to the device, and may receive one or more response messages from the device. The processor may determine whether one or more of the response messages received from the device is an appropriate response or an inappropriate response to the fabricated message. In response to determining that a response message is an inappropriate response, the processor may determine that the device is an illegitimate base station. In response to determining that the device is an illegitimate base station, the wireless device may perform a protective action.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit assistance information to a base station to request an update or a modification to one or more communication parameters configured at the UE. Such communication parameters may include a quantity of uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layers, a quantity of downlink MIMO layers, a minimum scheduling offset, a maximum quantity of component carriers, or a maximum aggregated bandwidth for a secondary cell group (SCG). In some implementations, the UE may transmit the assistance information requesting the update or modification to one or more of such communication parameters based on detecting that the UE satisfies one or more triggering conditions or thresholds.

In some embodiments, a reduced status prohibit timer is initiated in response to determining that the length of the tune-away interval exceeds a threshold. In some embodiments, two or more status reports are transmitted during a same status prohibit timer in response to determining that transmission window occupancy exceeds a threshold.

A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a UE capability message associated with a number of downlink multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) layers supported at the UE. The UE may receive a configuration for a set of downlink MIMO layers including a first subset of downlink MIMO layers configured for a first cell and a second subset of downlink MIMO layers configured for a second cell. The UE may allocate a first set of resources to the first cell or the second cell, or both, based on the first and the second subset of downlink MIMO layers. The UE may determine a second set of resources are unallocated to the set of downlink MIMO layers and allocate the second set of resources to the first cell or the second cell, or both.
