Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for determining a distance (or range) between a first wireless entity and a second wireless entity. In an aspect, the first wireless entity transmits a first positioning reference signaling (PRS) signal to the second wireless entity at a first time, where the first PRS signal is received by the second wireless entity at a second time, and receives a second PRS signal from the second wireless entity at a third time, where the second PRS signal is transmitted by the second wireless entity at a fourth time. The first wireless entity enables the distance to be determined by a location computing entity, for example, by a location server, based on the first, second, third, and fourth times. The first wireless entity may be a mobile device or a base station and the second wireless entity may be the other of the mobile device or base station.

Abstract: An IP address for a resource node may be discovered. In a method, a first client receives an IP address request. The IP address request includes destination geographical location information associated with the resource node. The first determines whether the destination geographical location information is within a geographical coverage area of the first client. The first client forwards the IP address request to a next client that is geographically closer to the resource node based on the destination geographical location information if the destination geographical location information is not within the geographical coverage area of the first client.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may include a plurality of modems available to transmit data using different radio access technologies (RATs). For example, a UE may include a WiFi modem that allows the UE to connect to a wireless local area network (WLAN). The UE may further include a cellular modem that allows the UE to connect to a cellular network, such as a third generation (3G) network, fourth generation (4G) network, Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network, fifth generation (5G) network, and the like. The UE may select a RAT for transmission of data based on the data, an application associated with the data, or the like. The UE may then cause the data to be transmitted over the selected RAT, such as by providing the data to a transmission control protocol (TCP) stack associated with a modem for the selected RAT.

Abstract: Techniques for co-existence on a shared communication medium are disclosed. An activation command may be received, over a backhaul connection and via a first Radio Access Technology (RAT), configuring the first RAT for active operation on a shared communication medium. An activity indicator may be generated based on the active operation of the first RAT. Based on the activity indicator, one or more measurements scheduled to be performed on the communication medium in accordance with a second RAT and a corresponding wakeup schedule may be disabled. Access of a first RAT to a shared communication medium may also be monitored. A priority indicator for the first RAT may be generated based on the monitored access. Based on the priority indicator, release of a backhaul connection on the communication medium that is associated with a second RAT may be coordinated.
