摘要: Disclosed are various techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may determine a plurality of measurement gap (MG) configurations, each MG configuration defining one or more MGs. The UE may send, to a serving base station, a request to use a first MG configuration from the plurality of MG configurations, and may receive a response to the first request. The UE then measures positioning signals using an MG configuration indicated by the response. Based on measurements of the first set of positioning signals, the UE may select a second MG configuration, send a second request to use the second MG configuration, and receive a response to the second request. The UE then measures a second set of positioning signals using an MG configuration indicated by the response to the second request.

摘要: A method of managing positioning reference signal transmission includes: instructing a transmission point to apply a muting pattern regarding transmission of a reference signal including first and second reference signal resources, where a first instance of the first reference signal resource includes one or more first resource elements across one or more first OFDM symbols within a slot, and a second instance of the second reference signal resource includes one or more second resource elements across one or more second OFDM symbols within the slot; and instructing the transmission point to transmit, unmuted, at least one of the one or more second resource elements, of at least one of the one or more second OFDM symbols, despite the muting pattern indicating to mute transmission of the at least one of the one or more second resource elements of the at least one of the one or more second OFDM symbols.

摘要: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that provide managing transmissions of sidelink positioning reference signals (PRS) with a timing advance offset (TA) from a sidelink node. In aspects, a sidelink node (e.g., a target user equipment (UE) or an assisting UE) may receive transmissions from a plurality of nodes (e.g., target UEs or assisting UEs). The sidelink node obtains at least one TA to be used by a transmitting node of the plurality of nodes for transmitting a sidelink PRS to the sidelink node (e.g., to advance the sidelink PRS transmission to the sidelink node with respect to the timing of the first transmission). The TA is an offset obtained by the sidelink node based on the receiving times of the transmissions from the plurality of nodes. The sidelink node may receive PRS transmissions from the plurality of nodes in a same symbol aligned within the same CP.

摘要: A mobile device supports positioning with positioning reference signals (PRS) on multiple beam by dividing the PRS processing into two separate modes, an acquisition mode and a tracking mode. In acquisition mode, the mobile device performs a fast scan of all of the beams from a base station transmitting PRS using less than the full set of resources for the PRS, i.e., less than the full bandwidth and/or less than the full number of repetitions of the PRS. The mobile device may select the best beams to use for positioning, e.g., based on signal strength metric. In tracking mode, the mobile device tracks the PRS from only the selected beams using the full set of resources for the PRS. The mobile device may return to acquisition mode after a predetermined number of positioning occasions or if the selected beams are no longer valid due to movement or change in conditions.

In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) determines at least one random access channel (RACH) preamble from a first set of RACH preambles, wherein the first set of RACH preambles is for positioning purposes and a second set of RACH preambles is for communication purposes, and wherein the first set of RACH preambles and the second set of RACH preambles are associated with at least one transmission-reception point (TRP), transmits, to the at least one TRP, the at least one RACH preamble to indicate that the UE is involved in a positioning session, receives, from the at least one TRP, in response to transmitting the at least one RACH preamble, an allocation of one or more resources for transmission of uplink positioning signals for the positioning session, and transmits the uplink positioning signals via the one or more resources.

摘要: A user equipment uses positioning reference signals (PRS) and non-PRS signals for position measurements. The non-PRS signals may be downlink and sidelink signals wherein the non-PRS are downlink or sidelink signals that are transmitted for purposes unrelated to positioning. Positioning assistance data is provided to the UE that associates the non-PRS signals with PRS-IDs. The association of the non-PRS signals to the PRS-IDs may be provided by a location server or serving base station. After performing positioning measurements using non-PRS signals, the UE reports measurement information using the PRS-IDs to identify the non-PRS signals used to generate the positioning measurements.
