Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a base station may interrupt a user equipment (UE) during transport block (TB) encoding. The UE may cancel transmission (e.g., suppress processing) of a TB based on the interruption, such that a first subset of code blocks is encoded and a second subset is unencoded. In some cases, the UE may receive a re-transmission request for a code block including cyclic redundancy check (CRC) bits for the TB, where the CRC bits are not prepared. In one example, the UE may modify the CRC bits (e.g., set them to a common value, drop them, etc.) to reduce processing time. In another example, the base station may request re-transmission of all preempted code blocks, supporting TB CRC calculation. In another example, the base station or UE may extend a processing timeline for the re-transmission to support TB CRC calculation.

Abstract: Wireless communication devices, systems, and methods related to communicating UCI are provided. For example, a method of wireless communication may include receiving, by a user equipment (UE) from a base station (BS), scheduling information for transmitting a hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) and uplink control information (UCI) during a time period. The UCI may include channel state information (CSI) or a scheduling request (SR). The method may include determining, by the UE, that the UCI and a HARQ-ACK codebook have a common priority, the HARQ-ACK being based on the HARQ-ACK codebook. The method may include transmitting, by the UE to the BS, the HARQ-ACK and the UCI during the time period based on the scheduling information, the transmitted UCI using resources determined based on a duration associated with the HARQ-ACK codebook, and the duration being based on the UCI and the HARQ-ACK codebook having the common priority.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for validation rules for message transmission occasions. In some cases, a user equipment (UE) may select a random access message transmission occasion for a preamble and a payload of a random access message, wherein the random access message transmission occasion comprises a preamble occasion and a payload occasion, select a preamble sequence for the preamble to transmit in the preamble occasion of the random access message transmission occasion of a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure, select at least one resource unit (RU) for transmitting the payload in the payload occasion, validate the selected random access message transmission occasion based on one or more criteria, and transmit the preamble sequence and the payload in the selected message transmission occasion if the selected random access message transmission occasion is validated.

In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may transmit assistance information to a base station to request an update or a modification to one or more communication parameters configured at the UE. Such communication parameters may include a quantity of uplink multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layers, a quantity of downlink MIMO layers, a minimum scheduling offset, a maximum quantity of component carriers, or a maximum aggregated bandwidth for a secondary cell group (SCG). In some implementations, the UE may transmit the assistance information requesting the update or modification to one or more of such communication parameters based on detecting that the UE satisfies one or more triggering conditions or thresholds.

A user equipment (UE) may generate an uplink random access message, including a random access preamble and an uplink shared channel resource unit, of a two-step random access procedure. The UE may identify configuration information for uplink control information (UCI) multiplexing. The UE may identify a trigger for inclusion of UCI with the uplink random access message. The UE may multiplex the UCI and a reference signal with the uplink shared channel resource unit and map the uplink control information to resource elements in the uplink shared channel resource unit based on a priority of the uplink control information and a location of resource elements to which the reference signal is mapped. The UE may transmit the uplink random access message comprising the uplink control information and an indication of the used UCI configuration to the base station.

Abstract: Size ambiguity and false alarm rate reduction for polar codes. A user equipment (UE) may determine a decoding candidate bit sequence for a polar-encoded codeword having a codeword size based on a decoding hypothesis for control information having a particular bit length of multiple different bit lengths for the codeword size. The UE may calculate an error detection code (EDC) value for a payload portion of the decoding candidate bit sequence using an EDC algorithm, and may initialize an EDC variable state with at least one non-zero bit value. Scrambling or interleaving of bits may also be performed prior to, or after, polar encoding and may depend on the bit length. In examples, information bits may be bit-reversed prior to generating an EDC value. In examples, the encoded bits may include multiple EDC values to assist the UE in performing early termination and to reduce a false alarm rate.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to the timing arrangements and the transmission gap configurations in 2-step random access channel (RACH) procedures to improve system latency and reliability of a RACH HARQ process are provided. The UE transmits a first message including a random access preamble and a payload, and then monitors for a second message in response to the first message during a random access response (RAR) window. In response to determining that no second message is received by the UE from the BS or a back off indicator is received within the RAR window, the UE re-transmits the preamble and payload of the first message after the RAR window lapses. In response to determining if the second message received within the RAR window carries a FallbackRAR or SuccessRAR, the UE then determines to re-transmit the payload of the first message based on the FallbackRAR, or to transmit an acknowledgement message based on the SuccessRAR.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may make a joint decision of adaptive receive diversity (ARD) and adaptive transmit diversity (ATD) configurations, including transmit (Tx) and receive (Rx) antennas selection and/or blanking based on downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) traffic conditions. The UE may disable at least one Tx chain for a transmission of a codebook-based sounding reference signal (SRS) (SRS-CB) based on one or more of at least one DL traffic condition or at least one UL traffic condition, and transmit, to a base station, upon disabling the at least one Tx chain, the SRS-CB via an antenna associated with at least one active Tx chain.
