Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to reporting and correcting a spatial misalignment of an orbital angular momentum (OAM) waveform communicated from a second device to a first device. In an aspect, the first device receives from the second device, the OAM waveform having a spatial misalignment with respect to the second device. The first device determines the spatial misalignment and further determines spatial coordinates for correcting the spatial misalignment and/or one or more channel measurements of the OAM waveform. Thereafter, the first device sends a report based on the spatial misalignment to the second device, the report including the spatial coordinates for correcting the spatial misalignment and/or the one or more channel measurements. The first device then receives an adjusted OAM waveform from the second device, wherein the adjusted OAM waveform is received having a corrected spatial alignment with respect to the second device based on the report.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may monitor one or more first conditions pertaining to non-cellular communications between the UE and a non-cellular network while the UE is operating in a dual networking mode for steering, switching, or splitting traffic (e.g., an access traffic steering, switching, and splitting (ATSSS) mode) between the non-cellular network and a cellular network. The UE may predict an availability status of at least the non-cellular network based on at least one of the one or more first conditions. In some cases, the UE may determine whether to change dual networking modes based on the availability status and may communicate in accordance with the same or a different dual networking mode using at least one of the cellular network, the non-cellular network, or a combination thereof based on the prediction.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A base station may determine to enable orbital angular momentum (OAM) beamforming for communications with a user equipment (UE), for example, based on one or more communications parameters and receiving a message from the UE indicating a capability of the UE to use OAM beamforming. The base station may transmit control signaling to the UE indicating that OAM beamforming is enabled. In some examples, the base station may transmit control signaling indicating an OAM configuration, which may be for a same slot in which the control signaling is transmitted or a subsequent slot. The base station may transmit a downlink transmission to the UE via OAM beamforming. In some examples, the base station may estimate and correct misalignment associated with OAM beamforming. In some examples, the base station may disable OAM beamforming and transmit an indication that OAM beamforming is disabled.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may be configured to include an array of lenses along with multiple antenna arrays that each include a set of antenna elements. The antenna arrays may each support multiple beam directions, such as a respective beam direction for each lens of the array of lenses. If beams for multiple antenna arrays concurrently pass through the same lens, the lens may contribute to maintaining separation between the beams. Lenses may also contribute to the shaping of beams, and the use of multiple lenses may enhance a coverage area for beams transmitted or received by the antenna arrays.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Some wireless communications systems may support orbital angular momentum (OAM) communications. A transmitting network node may generate signals for transmission via a first circular antenna array that includes a first quantity of antenna subarrays. The transmitting network node may transmit the signals using the first circular antenna array and based on OAM vectors. The receiving network node may receive and decode the signals using a second circular antenna array that includes a second quantity of antenna subarrays and based on the OAM vectors. The OAM vectors may be based on a numerical relationship between the first quantity and the second quantity. The numerical relationship may include the first quantity being equal to a product of the second quantity and a non-integer rational number and a greatest common divisor of the first and second quantities being an integer greater than one.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described for antenna selection and reporting for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications. One or more grouping parameters may be provided to a wireless node, which may indicate a subset of antennas that are to be used for MIMO communications, may indicate one or more target nodes for MIMO communications, or combinations thereof. The wireless node may measure one or more channel parameters based on the grouping parameters and determine one or more antenna subsets or target nodes that meet MIMO communication parameters (e.g., an antenna group or target node that will support a certain rank of MIMO communications). The wireless node may report an indication of the identified antenna subsets or target nodes to a control entity for scheduling of MIMO communications.

Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently determining a region in which a user equipment (UE) is located. The UE may perform measurements on reference signals received from a first network entity to determine the region in which the UE is located. In some cases, the UE may provide the measurements or other information to a second network entity, and the second network entity may indicate the region in which the UE is located to the UE based on the measurements or the other information. The second network entity or the UE may also indicate the region in which the UE is located to the first network entity. The UE and the first network entity may then select suitable beams for communicating based on the region in which the UE is located.

In an aspect, a first wireless device transmits a request to participate in a coordination and detection procedure to determine whether a human is present in an environment of the first wireless device, receives an acknowledgment from at least a second wireless device, transmits a first set of at least two consecutive wireless signals to the second wireless device, receives a second set of at least two consecutive wireless signals from the second wireless device, determines whether the human is present in the environment based at least in part on a first time of flight (ToF) and a second ToF between the first wireless device and the second wireless device, and sets a transmit power of the first wireless device based on the determination of whether the human is present in the environment.
