Abstract: An information processing device includes: a medium connection unit that reads first key information from a detachable first recording medium; and a second recording medium storing firmware. The firmware is a program to be executed at a time of start-up of the information processing device and contains second key information. The information processing device includes: a third recording medium storing encrypted data; and a control unit that reads the encrypted data from the third recording medium and decrypts the encrypted data. At the time of start-up of the information processing device, the control unit operates in accordance with the firmware to generate a decryption key for decrypting the encrypted data, from the first key information and the second key information.

Abstract: A CPU in a character recognition device detects at least one candidate character area having a likelihood higher than zero in the input image, the likelihood being a likelihood of including a character. The CPU determines that a candidate character area having a likelihood higher than a threshold as a character area. The CPU then superimposes the character area over the input image, and displays the resultant image. The CPU acquires a user input designating a first point on the input image. The CPU raises the likelihood of the candidate character area that is included in a first correction area including the first point. The CPU determines a candidate character area having a likelihood higher than a threshold as a character area again. The CPU then superimposes the character area over the input image and displays the resultant image again. The CPU recognizes the characters included in the character areas.

Abstract: A processor of an information processing device acquires first device information including failure information related to each client terminal, and failure resolution information, and generates a failure database containing the failure information and the failure resolution information associated with each other. The processor acquires second device information related to each client terminal at a predetermined time interval, and performs, in the failure database, primary search for the failure resolution information based on information for search for searching for the failure resolution information. The processor performs, in the second device information, secondary search for the information of the client terminal specified by the information for search, extracts specific information of the specified client terminal from the failure resolution information by extracting information corresponding to a result of the secondary search from a result of the primary search, and transmits the specific information to the specified client terminal by the output unit.
