    Abstract: A foreign object detecting device includes first and second coils, the winding directions of which are the same, and a foreign object detecting circuit. The foreign object detecting circuit outputs a first detecting signal having a first predetermined waveform to a first terminal of the first coil and outputs a second detecting signal having a second predetermined waveform, which has the same polarity as the first predetermined waveform, to a third terminal of the second coil to cause magnetic fields generated from the first and second coils to repel each other. The foreign object detecting circuit measures an amount of change of the impedance value of the first or second coil which is caused by the presence of a foreign object. When the amount of change exceeds a predetermined value, the foreign object detecting circuit determines that there is a foreign object above the first or second coil.

    Abstract: A power transmitting device determines transmitting power P(t1) at a beginning of a first unit time, and transmitting power P(t2) at an end of the first unit time, stores a control parameter Q(t3) that determines a voltage of the transmitting power at a beginning of a second unit time, and a control parameter Q(t4) that determines a voltage of the transmitting power at an end of the second unit time, determines a power difference ΔP=P(t2)−P(t1) and a difference ΔQ=Q(t4)−Q(t3) in the control parameter Q, and, if the ΔP is equal to or larger than a first threshold and an absolute value of the ΔQ is equal to or larger than a second threshold, determines that there is a foreign object between a receiver resonator and a transmitter resonator and decreases the transmitting power output from an inverter circuit.

    Abstract: A foreign object detecting device includes first, second, and third coils and a foreign object detecting circuit. The foreign object detecting circuit outputs a first detecting signal having a first predetermined waveform to a first terminal of the first coil and outputs a second detecting signal having a second predetermined waveform, which is an inverted form of the first predetermined waveform, to a fifth terminal of the third coil to cause a combined magnetic field extending over the first and third coils. The foreign object detecting circuit measures an amount of change of the impedance value of the first or third coil with respect to a change in the combined magnetic field in the case of the presence of a foreign object. The amount of change exceeds a predetermined value, the foreign object detecting circuit determines that there is a foreign object above the second coil.

    Abstract: A power converter apparatus is provided with: a plurality of leg circuits, each including two switch circuits connected in series between input terminals; a transformer including a primary winding and a secondary winding, the primary winding having a first terminal and a second terminal; and at least one capacitor. The at least one capacitor is connected between the first terminal or the second terminal of the primary winding of the transformer, and a node between the two switch circuits in at least one leg circuit among the plurality of leg circuits. The first terminal of the primary winding of the transformer is connected to at least two nodes between the switch circuits in at least two first leg circuits among the plurality of leg circuits, via at least two first circuit portions having at least one of capacitances and inductances different from each other, respectively.
