Abstract: A communication system includes a central cloud server and a processor that periodically obtains sensing information from an edge device that is in motion at a travel path. The processor predicts formed whether an existing cellular connectivity of the edge device is about to become less than a threshold performance value, based on the obtained sensing information. If the existing cellular connectivity of the edge device is about to become less than the threshold performance value, an alternative wireless connectivity option is triggered at the edge device bypassing an initial access-search at the edge device to maintain the cellular connectivity.

Abstract: A communication system includes a central cloud server that predicts a first travel path of a first edge device in motion. The first edge device is communicatively coupled to a first base station via a primary wireless connectivity option. The central cloud server determines a set of alternative wireless connectivity options to be made available to first edge device in advance for predicted first travel path. Each of the set of alternative wireless connectivity options includes a different specific initial access information. The set of alternative wireless connectivity options are pre-loaded at first edge device to cause first edge device to maintain a cellular connectivity with at least one of a plurality of base stations, where one or more alternative wireless connectivity options from the set of alternative wireless connectivity options are configured to be triggered along predicted first travel path bypassing an initial access-search at first edge device.

Abstract: A communication system includes a central cloud server that detects the presence of an active sync path at each of a first edge device and a second edge device, where the first edge device is arranged at a first location at a vehicle and the second edge device is arranged at a second location of the vehicle. The central cloud server further determines a dominant edge device and a non-dominant edge device from the first edge device and the second edge device. The central cloud server further elects the determined dominant edge device from the first edge device and the second edge device to service one or more user equipment (UEs) in the vehicle, which improves performance in terms of data throughput and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of one or more UEs present in the vehicle by effectively controlling cooperation between two edge devices arranged in the vehicle.

Abstract: An edge device includes an antenna array and a sensor that senses a surrounding area of the edge device. The edge device further includes control circuitry that detects a first user in the surrounding area of the edge device sensed by the sensor, tracks the detected first user in the surrounding area of the edge device based on the sensor, controls the first antenna array to direct a first beam of radio frequency (RF) signal in a first direction of the tracked first user, detects and tracks a second user concurrently with the first user in the surrounding area of the first edge device based on the sensor, and updates the control of the first antenna array to direct a second beam of RF signal in a second direction towards the second user concomitant to the directed first beam of RF signal in the first direction towards the first user.

Abstract: A communication system includes a central cloud server to establish a primary communication path between a radio access network (RAN) node and one or more user equipment (UEs) via a first set of edge devices of a plurality of edge devices, where each edge device is configured as a mesh node of a mesh network. The central cloud server determines a plurality of secondary communication paths between the RAN node and the one or more UEs via different sets of edge devices. The central cloud server ranks each of the plurality of secondary communication paths in terms of one or more signal quality parameters and controls switching from the primary communication path to one or more secondary communication paths configured as backup communication paths within a threshold time to maintain a continuity in service to the one or more UEs for uplink and downlink communication.

Abstract: A communication system includes an edge device that communicates a plurality of sensed parameters to a central cloud server, where the plurality of sensed parameters are associated with the donor antenna array and the one or more relay antenna arrays. The edge device obtains a plurality of path setup parameters specific for the edge device from the central cloud server in response to the communicated plurality of sensed parameters. The edge device further establishes, via the donor antenna array, a communication link to an upstream neighboring node of a plurality of neighboring nodes based on the obtained plurality of path setup parameters. The edge device further establishes, via the one or more relay antenna arrays, one or more communication links to one or more downstream neighboring nodes of the plurality of neighboring nodes based on the obtained plurality of path setup parameters.

Abstract: A road-side unit (RSU) device receives a first request from a vehicle that moves along a travel path. The vehicle includes an edge device. A second request is communicated to an inference server based on the received first request. The second request includes an input feature corresponding to sensing information of the vehicle. A response is received from the inference server based on the communicated second request. The response includes wireless connectivity enhanced information including specific initial access information, and the specific initial access information enables the RSU devices to bypass an initial access search on the RSU device, and direct at least one specific beam of radio frequency (RF) signal to the edge device of the vehicle based on the wireless connectivity enhanced information.

Abstract: A communication system includes a central cloud server that decreases a gain of a currently active path, which corresponds to a primary communication path between a radio access network (RAN) node and one or more user equipment (UEs) via a first set of edge devices, until the currently active path becomes dormant. A gain of a dormant path, corresponding to a secondary communication path is increased until the dormant path becomes a new active path. Further, at least one edge device of the second set of edge devices is caused to transmit one or more beams of radio frequency (RF) signals in one or more specific directions towards one or more new neighboring nodes to establish the secondary communication path that is used as a backup communication path between the RAN node and the one or more UEs via a second set of edge devices different from the first set of edge devices.

Abstract: An access repeater device detects distribution of user equipment (UEs) within defined physical coverage zone based on first beam of RF signals transmitted at first Tx power level from the access repeater device. A first UE is detected at first distance from the access repeater device at first instance. The access repeater device controls the decrease of the first Tx power level of the first beam of RF signals. The decrease induces UE response at a second UE to increase Tx radio power of RF signal emitted by the second UE hidden to the access repeater device. The access repeater device further re-detects the distribution of the set of UEs within the defined physical coverage zone at a second instance, based on the UE response, wherein the detected set of UEs comprises the first UE at the first distance and the second UE at the second distance.
