Abstract:
A three-dimensional display device includes: a display region candidate deciding unit that decides a candidate region of an additional image which shields part of a main image of a three-dimensional image on a screen; a depth suitability determination unit that determines whether a difference in depth between the main image and the additional image is within a tolerance range; an image compositing unit that superimposes the additional image upon the candidate region on the main image, and displays the composited image; and a possibly-unsuitable region deciding unit that decides, in the main image, a first region that may protrude to a near side beyond a predetermined depth range, and a second region that may recess to a far side beyond a predetermined depth range. The display region candidate deciding unit further decides a candidate region to shield the first and second regions.
Abstract:
This invention solves the problem that objects in the field of view of reading glasses using multifocal lenses for correcting ocular refractive errors such as presbyopia appear distorted. This image display device is provided with the following: a distance computation unit that computes the distance to a subject in a field-of-view image; a visual-acuity-information acquisition unit that stores visual-acuity information for the user in advance; a corrected-image generation unit that generates and outputs a corrected image on the basis of the field-of-view image and an eye image generated from the field-of-view image, the distance information, and the visual-acuity information; and a display unit that displays the corrected image by superimposing same onto the user's field of view. Since the corrected image is superimposed without the use of lenses, lenses being the cause of the abovementioned distortion, the user can see close objects clearly.
Abstract:
A standing motion assist device includes a support mechanism attached to a leg of a user to assist the user with motion, a sensor including first and/or second sensors that measure and output posture information and myoelectric potentials of the user, respectively, the sensor outputting measurement data including first measurement data measured after a sitting motion of the user sitting in a chair starts and second measurement data measured after the sitting motion ends, a memory that stores the measurement data, and a processor that controls the support mechanism. The processor detects the sitting motion and identifies the chair type based on the first measurement data, detects the start of a motion of the user standing from the chair based on the second measurement data, and outputs assist information corresponding to the identified chair type and used by the support mechanism to assist the user with standing.
Abstract:
A sensor device includes a plurality of electrode chambers, a measurement chamber, and an accommodation chamber which are connected in annular relationship permitting expansion and contraction. Each of the plurality of electrode chambers has a measurement electrode. The measurement chamber has a biological potential measurement circuit which is connected with each measurement electrode via electrically conductive wiring for measuring biological potential of the user by using the measurement electrode. The accommodation chamber has an internal protrusion. The wiring which connects at least one measurement electrode and the biological potential measurement circuit is provided around the protrusion, the wiring having a length which enables longitudinal feeding in accordance with an amount of elongation when the sensor device is elongated. A maximum clearance S between the accommodation chamber and an adjacent chamber is greater than a maximum clearance R between any two adjacent chambers.
Abstract:
Provided is a convergence performance determination device that determines convergence eye movement performance of a user when viewing a stereoscopic video by comparing amounts of convergence information calculated from eye information obtained from the user to predetermined amounts of convergence information. The convergence performance determination device then allows a degree of stereoscopy of the stereoscopic video being viewed by the user to be changed to a degree suitable to the user based on the determined convergence eye movement performance of the user.
Abstract:
A three-dimensional display device configured to display a main image and an additional image on a screen includes a display region candidate decider that decides one candidate region from a plurality of region candidates for the additional image to be superimposed on the main image on the screen, a depth suitability determiner that determines whether a difference between a depth of the main image displayed at a boundary region and a depth of the additional image is within a predetermined tolerance range, and an image composer that, when the difference in depth between the depth of the main image displayed at the boundary region and the depth of the additional image is within the tolerance range, superimposes the additional image upon the main image at the candidate region, thereby composing a composite image of the main image and the additional image, and displays the composite image on the screen.
Abstract:
A standing-up assistance apparatus includes a first sensor that measures a muscle potential of a lower leg of a user, a second sensor that measures a knee angle of the user, a processor that determines whether starting to assist the user in a standing-up motion from a seated state is possible, based on, at least, the measured muscle potential and the measured knee angle, and outputs an instruction signal if the processor determines that starting to assist the user in the standing-up motion is possible, and an assistance mechanism. The assistance mechanism starts assisting the user in the standing-up motion when the assistance mechanism receives the instruction signal from the processor.
Abstract:
An input apparatus for controlling an information terminal includes a gesture detecting unit that detects a rotational movement of a wrist of a user about a lower arm of the user and an output unit that outputs a control command for controlling a device to be controlled to the device to be controlled on the basis of a rotational direction of the detected rotational movement. If the gesture detecting unit detects a first rotational movement in a first rotational direction and thereafter detects a second rotational movement in a second rotational direction that is opposite to the first rotational direction, the output unit outputs a second control command corresponding to the second rotational direction without outputting a first control command corresponding to the first rotational direction.
