Abstract: The present disclosure relates to communication devices. Such devices may comprise input for receiving sound signal to be processed and presented to a user, and output for outputting the processed signal to a user perceivable as sound. Such processing may be performed by use of a processor for processing the sound signal in dependence of a setting or a set of setting to compensate a hearing loss profile. Further, the communication device may comprise a bio-signal acquisition and amplifier component in communication with a user interface for providing the bio-signals as input to the user interface, the user interface controlling the setting or set of setting for operation of the communication device.

Abstract: A hearing aid comprises a microphone configured to receive an acoustic input signal and convert the signal into an electric input signal, an audiological signal processing unit coupled to the microphone and configured to process the electric input signal to a processed signal, an amplifier coupled to the audiological signal processing unit and configured to amplify the processed signal to an amplified signal, and a receiver coupled to the amplifier and configured to transform the amplified signal into an acoustic output signal. The hearing aid further comprises a howl detector coupled to the signal processing unit and configured to detect the presence of a feedback howl originating from the hearing aid an analyzer coupled to the howl detector and configured to determine a value indicative of whether the feedback howl detected is potentially audible to a person neighboring the user of the hearing aid.

Abstract: The application relates to a hearing assistance system (a method and its use) for processing an input signal representative of sound according to a user's needs, the hearing assistance system comprising an implanted part adapted for being at least partially implanted in a user's head and comprising a sensing unit capable of measuring an endocochlear potential at one or more positions along the length of the cochlear partition. The hearing assistance system further comprises a decoder configured to receive said endocochlear potentials or signals derived therefrom and to transform the received signals into signals appropriately conditioned for use as control inputs to the signal processing unit, and wherein the signal processing unit is configured to process the electric input signal in dependence of said control inputs from said decoder. Thereby the processing of the audio signal of a hearing assistance device can be automatically adapted over time.
