摘要: The present invention provides extruded tubes for heat exchangers having improved corrosion resistance when used alone and when part of a brazed heat exchanger assembly with compatible finstock. The tubes are formed from a first aluminum alloy containing 0.4 to 1.1% by weight manganese, up to 0.01% by weight copper, up to 0.05% by weight zinc, up to 0.2% by weight iron, up to 0.2% by weight silicon, up to 0.01% by weight nickel, up to 0.05% by weight titanium and the balance aluminum and incidental impurities. The fins are formed from a second aluminum alloy containing 0.9 to 1.5% by weight manganese or an alloy of the AA3003 type, this second aluminum alloy further containing at least 0.5% by weight zinc.

摘要: A fluid container and capsule therefor. The capsule comprises upper and lower parts, at least one of which has a dished formation and both of which have a peripheral rim, the rims being secured together so that the upper and lower parts are at least partially in register with one another to provide at least one vented chamber extending into the dished formation. The capsule includes a vent hole or like structure in at least one of the parts to communicate between the interior of the chamber and the exterior thereof. The lower part has its exterior so formed as to enable it to be held in stable engagement with a surface but so that a fluid may pass freely between those parts of the exterior of the lower part and the surface that are not in intimate engagement.

摘要: An aluminum alloy containing (in wt. %): 0.2-0.5 Fe; 0.7-1.2 Si; 1.2-1.6 Mn; up to 0.3 Mg; up to 0.5 Cu; up to 0.2 Zn; up to 0.1 Ti is used to make the fins of heat exchangers particularly car radiators. The finstock has high post braze strength and thermal conductivity, and has a sufficiently electronegative potential as to be capable of acting as a sacrificial anode for the heat exchanger tubes. By virtue of the absence of Sn, In, and Cr, these heat exchangers can be scrapped and melted for re-use.

摘要: Aqueous heat transfer apparatus contains a multicomponent corrosion protection system including a first component adapted to release a corrosion inhibitor on exposure to water under relatively milder conditions and a second component adapted to release a corrosion inhibitor on exposure to water under relatively severer conditions. The components may be open top compartments of a capsule, closed by means of covers of controlled release glass which dissolve in water at different rates.
