    Abstract: A method performed by a wireless device functioning as a beamformee station in a wireless network to perform a sounding procedure. The method includes wirelessly receiving a null data packet (NDP) announcement frame from a beamformer station, wherein the NDP announcement frame includes an indication of whether the beamformee station should acknowledge the NDP announcement frame and responsive to determining that the NDP announcement frame includes an indication that the beamformee station should acknowledge the NDP announcement frame, wirelessly transmitting an acknowledgement frame for the NDP announcement frame to the beamformer station.

The method includes setting a type bit in a frame to indicate whether the frame is scheduling an uplink transmission for a first set of stations or a first and second set of stations; configuring a common information field of the frame for (1) the first set of stations for the transmission and (2) when the type bit indicates, the second set of stations for the transmission; configuring a set of user information fields of the frame for (1) the first set of stations for the transmission and (2) when the type bit indicates, the second set of stations for the transmission; and transmitting the frame to (1) the first set of stations and (2) the second set of stations when the type bit indicates that the frame is scheduling for the first and second set of stations.

    Abstract: A process for receiving a Physical Layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) may include receiving a first portion of the PPDU. The first portion including a Legacy Signal (L-SIG) field and a second signal field that is received after the reception of the L-SIG field. The process further includes decoding, using first information in the L-SIG field, the second signal field, and determining, using second information included in the second signal field, that the PPDU includes midambles. In response to determining that the PPDU includes midambles, the process determines, using a midamble periodicity M, a number of midambles NMA in the PPDU, determines, using the number of midambles, a number of data symbols in a data field of the PPDU, and processes, using the number of midambles and the number of data symbols, the data field of the PPDU. The process may be performed by a wireless device.

    Abstract: A method for encoding a bitstream is described. The method includes receiving, by an error correction unit, the bitstream; performing, by the error correction unit, encoding on the bitstream to generate an encoded bit stream that includes the bitstream and parity bits; processing, by a constellation unit, the encoded bitstream to generate constellation points in one or more encoded streams; determining, by a low-density parity-check (LDPC) tone mapper, a distance between subcarriers in an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol of the frame; and performing, by the LDPC tone mapper, LDPC tone mapping based on the one or more encoded streams and on the determined distance to generate a permuted stream of complex numbers, wherein the distance between subcarriers is determined to be either (1) 18 for a first resource unit size used in the frame and (2) 20 for a second resource unit size used in the frame.

    Abstract: A method for calibrating a radio frequency (RF) transmitter to compensate for a frequency-dependent in-phase quadrature (FDIQ) mismatch is disclosed. The method may include determining in-phase quadrature (IQ) amplitude and phase mismatches of the RF transmitter for a lower side band (LSB) and an upper side band (USB), determining a FDIQ mismatch based on linear fitting the IQ amplitude and phase mismatches for the LSB and the USB, modifying the FDIQ mismatch based on flipping a FDIQ phase mismatch in the LSB and flipping a FDIQ phase mismatch in the USB to generate a modified FDIQ mismatch, determining Fourier coefficients based on applying an inverse fast Fourier transform to the modified FDIQ mismatch, and determining FIR coefficients for a finite impulse response (FIR) filter of the RF transmitter based on windowing the Fourier coefficients.

The method includes generating a NDPA frame, wherein the NDPA frame includes a sounding dialog token field, wherein bit B0 of the sounding dialog token field is set to binary ‘1’ and bit B1 of the sounding dialog token field is set to binary ‘1’ to indicate that the NDPA frame is an extremely high throughput (EHT) NDPA frame and wirelessly transmitting the NDPA frame to one or more beamformee stations. The NDPA frame may include an indication of whether a beamformee station should acknowledge the NDP announcement frame or not. The NDPA frame may be transmitted in a first frequency band, while a beamformed data frame is transmitted in a second frequency band that is a higher frequency band than the first frequency band.

The method includes setting, by a wireless device, a first field of the frame according to a first characteristic of the frame; setting, by the wireless device, a second field of the frame according to a second characteristic of the frame; setting, by the wireless device, a puncturing field of the frame in response to the first field of the frame meeting a first criteria and the second field of the frame meeting a second criteria, wherein the puncturing field is associated with puncturing a set of sub-channels of a transmission bandwidth of the frame; and transmitting, by the wireless device, the frame based on the transmission bandwidth and according to the set of sub-channels.
