摘要: One method for determining a gray background value of a scanned document having left, right, top and bottom edges includes obtaining a scanned image of a horizontal strip which includes at least one portion of the document and which includes at least one non-document area, and includes creating a histogram of pixel values, of the horizontal strip, inside the document edges while excluding from the histogram pixel values, of the horizontal strip, located outside the document edges. Another method for determining a gray background value includes obtaining a scanned image of a vertical strip. One method for determining skew of a scanned document includes obtaining a scanned image, which includes a leading document edge, using vertically-displaced successive horizontal scan lines, includes determining points of the leading edge, and includes fitting a line to the points. Another method for determining a skew uses horizontally-displaced successive vertical scan lines.

摘要: A method and apparatus for processing a digital image to reduce moiré artifacts while preserving or improving detailed features. Pixels may be categorized as halftone and/or detail pixels and filtered accordingly. A pixel may be categorized as halftone if intensity values over a first window laid over that pixel vary by less than a first predetermined threshold. A descreen filter may be applied to halftone pixels. The remaining pixels that are not categorized as halftone pixels are analyzed as potential text elements. A PTE may be categorized as a detail pixel if intensity values over a second window laid over that pixel vary by more than a second predetermined threshold. The second window may be smaller than the first window. A sharpening filter may be applied to detail pixels.

摘要: For allowing a very flexible scheduling of data flows within an OpenFlow (OF) switch a method for operating an OpenFlow switch within a network includes using the OpenFlow switch to direct arriving data flows out of different ports of the OpenFlow switch. The method is characterized in that a scheduling mechanism for performing at least one scheduling task is assigned to the OpenFlow switch, wherein a metric will be used to assign weights to the arriving data flows and wherein the data flows will then be scheduled based on the assigned weights and based on a scheduling policy. Further, a corresponding OpenFlow switch and a corresponding network are described, preferably for carrying out the above mentioned method.

摘要: The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates utilizing rule-based technology with radio frequency identification (RFID) network. An interface can receive real-time RFID data from a process comprising at least one device collection in the RFID network, wherein a rules engine (RE) component can employ a declarative event policy associated with the RFID network as rules. The RE allows dynamic updates of business logic associated with applications in real-time without the re-start and/or stop the applications. The system and/or method further comprises a vocabulary component that provides terms that defines at least one of the rule, rule condition, and action based at least in part upon an industry specific nomenclature.

摘要: A system can include a system processor that is programmed or adapted to classify pixels in a document image, and in some instances, to enhance the document image based upon such classification. Image data including pixels is received. For each pixel in some subset of the image data, a feature vector is generated. Each pixel in the subset is classified as text or image based upon its associated feature vector. The classifications can be outputted for storage and/or further processing. Further processing can include pixel level enhancement processing. Such enhancement processing can include application of a sharpening filter to pixels classified as text and of a smoothing filter to pixels classified as image. In some instances, background suppression can be performed upon a subset of the image data prior to classification.

摘要: A visual reality augmentation apparatus (300) comprises one or more (substantially) real time reality context input stages (301, 302) that provide corresponding reality context information to a reality content detector (303). The latter provides detected object information to an augmented reality content display (304) that provides augmentation information (via, for example, projection display techniques) to augment the real world scene being viewed by a viewer. In a preferred approach a direction-of-gaze detector (305) detects the viewer's gaze direction. That information then serves to facilitate positional synchronization of the augmentation information to the viewer's point of view of the corresponding real world information.
