Abstract: A motor driver includes an inverter used for driving a motor and configured to apply an alternating-current voltage to the motor. The inverter drives, during start operation, a switching element of the inverter with a first PWM signal that is PWM modulated with a carrier frequency that is a first integer multiple of a frequency of the alternating-current voltage, and thereafter drives the switching element with a second PWM signal that is PWM modulated with a carrier frequency that is a second integer multiple of the frequency of the alternating-current voltage. The second integer is smaller than the first integer.

Abstract: A motor control device includes a position sensor that detects a position of a motor, an AD converter that converts an analog signal, which is a detection value of a motor current, into a digital signal, and a control circuit that drives an inverter using an output signal of the AD converter. The control circuit starts the AD converter during a permission period, and performs processing for the analog-digital converter during an electrical half cycle including a permission period. The length of a prohibition period obtained by excluding a permission period from an electrical half cycle decreases as the rotating speed of the motor increases.

Abstract: A direct-current power supply device includes a switching unit constituted by a first switching element and a second switching element and a control unit that controls the operations of the first witching element and the second switching element. The switching unit has a first mode in which on-duty is a first value and a second mode in which the on-duty is a second value larger than the first value. When transitioning the switching unit from the first mode to the second mode, the control unit controls the switching unit such that the time until the on-duty reaches the second value is equal to or longer than a fixed time and controls, after the on-duty reaches the second value, an operation cycle of the switching unit to extend the operation cycle.

Abstract: A direct-current power supply device includes a rectifier connected to a power supply, a charge storage unit configured by a first capacitor and a second capacitor connected in series, a switching unit configured by a first switching element 4a and a second switching element connected in series and backflow preventing elements that suppress a backflow of electric charges from the charge storage unit, a reactor, a control unit that controls operations of the first switching element and the second switching element, and a direct-current-voltage detecting unit that detects a first both-end voltage, which is a voltage across the first capacitor, and a second both-end voltage, which is a voltage across the second capacitor. The control unit detects, on the basis of a voltage difference between the first both-end voltage and the second both-end voltage, a short-circuit failure of one of the first switching element and the second switching element.
