摘要: Methods and compositions for detecting the assembly of complexes include providing a solution where a first portion is separated from a second portion via a submicrometer pore, submicrometer tube or channel, nanopore, or nanotube or channel. One or more submicrometer or nanometer sized object(s) is added to the first portion of the solution. Due to molecular interactions, these objects assemble to form complexes consisting of two or more submicrometer or nanometer sized objects. Passage of a complex from the first portion of the solution through the submicrometer pore, submicrometer tube or channel, nanopore, or nanotube or channel to the second portion of the solution is detected using resistive pulse sensing. This sensing methodology may comprise detecting formation of complexes in real-time and/or may comprise detecting preassembled complexes.

摘要: A remote radio head (RRH) of a distributed radio access network (RAN) is equipped with a co-located user equipment (UE). The UE can be a chipset integrated into the RRH, which is connected to other parts of the RAN via a fronthaul network. The UE can be used to relay information, such as management information to and/or from the RRH. Timing information obtained by the UE can be provided to the RRH and used as an indication of fronthaul latency. The RRH can then adjust its operation in response to the indication of fronthaul latency.

摘要: Screening assays and methods of employing the screening assays designed to identify potential inhibitors of amyloidal neurodegenerative disease. The screening assays comprises providing a membrane construct disposed on a substrate and contacting the membrane construct with Aβ peptide capable of forming an Aβ peptide ion channel in the construct. The membrane construct is then contacted with a test compound. Aβ peptide ion channel activity is determined after the construct has incubated with the Aβ peptide in the presence and in the absence of the test compound. A reduction in the Aβ peptide ion channel activity of the membrane construct contacted with the test compound in comparison to a different membrane construct contacted with the same Aβ peptide in the absence of said test compound indicates that the test compound is an inhibitor of amyloidal neurodegenerative disease.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for converting thermal energy into mechanical work. Said method comprises the following steps which are performed as a cycle: A liquid work medium is fed from a supply reservoir (1) to a work container (3); the work medium in the work container (3) is heated by a first heat exchanger (5); a sub-amount of the work medium flows from the work container (3) to a pneumatic-hydraulic-converter (8), a hydraulic medium from the pneumatic-hydraulic-converter (8) is compressed in a work machine (9) in order to convert the hydraulic work of the hydraulic medium into mechanical work; the work medium from the pneumatic-hydraulic-converter (8) is fed back into the supply reservoir (1) and the hydraulic medium is returned into the pneumatic-hydraulic-converter (8). The invention also relates to a device for carrying out said method.

摘要: A device for treating spinal stenosis having an implant body structure sized and configured to be positioned between the spinous processes of two adjacent vertebrae. The device may have a body portion having a first end portion, a second end portion and a sleeve between the first and second end portions. The device may also have at least two retainers positioned in and extendable from the body portion. A mechanism positioned within the body portion may be used to move the retainers between a retracted position and a deployed position. When the retainers are in the deployed position, the retainers may be positioned around the spinous process of at least one of two adjacent vertebrae. A plurality of installation tools which may be used to install the device are also disclosed.
