摘要: An air intake apparatus of a multi-cylinder engine includes an intake air inlet passage, an intake air distribution portion, a plurality of independent intake air passages, and a secondary gas inlet passage. The intake air inlet passage has one end portion attached to a throttle valve, and the other end connected to an intake air distribution portion. The intake air distribution portion has a space therein. The secondary gas inlet passage is connected at a part spaced apart, in the intake air inlet passage, from the throttle valve. The intake air distribution portion has a reflux passage which is a passage that connects the space and a part between the one end portion and the other end in the intake air inlet passage. The reflux passage is a passage which refluxes fresh air and secondary gas introduced from the intake air inlet passage to the intake air inlet passage.

摘要: An intake system of an engine supplies gas at least containing fresh air to each cylinder. The system includes an EGR passage that communicates with an internal space of a downstream intake passage and introduces some EGR gas into the downstream intake passage. The EGR passage includes a projected section in a substantially polygonal or cylindrical shape that is projected to the internal space of the downstream intake passage. The projected section is formed in such a shape that a projection length H1 in an outer circumferential surface on an upstream side is longer than a projection length H2 in an outer circumferential surface on a downstream side.

摘要: An intake system of an engine including an intake manifold, which includes an intake air introducing pipe and a plurality of independent intake pipes, is provided. Each of the independent intake pipes has an arc shape surrounding the intake air introducing pipe from outside with a space. A first independent intake pipe is curved more in the cylinder lined-up direction than a second. From the side in the cylinder lined-up direction, the arc shape of the second independent intake pipe is more distant from the intake air introducing pipe. To a first member constituting part of the intake air introducing pipe, a second member is joined to form the arc shape of the first independent intake pipe. A third member disposed radially outward from the first member is joined to the second member to form the arc shape of the second independent intake pipe.

摘要: Removal and breakage of fuel piping during a vehicle front collision is prevented for an engine mounted longitudinally in an engine compartment. Embodiments include a side structure of the engine having an alternator in front of an intake manifold and fuel piping behind the intake manifold so as to extend in the vertical direction. The intake manifold includes a plurality of independent intake pipe portions each having one end portion connected to one side of the engine in a vehicle width direction, and a surge tank portion to which the other end portions of the independent intake pipe portions are connected. As seen from the rear side, a portion of the fuel piping closer to the surge tank portion is located closer to the one side of the engine in the vehicle width direction than the surge tank portion.

摘要: An exhaust gas recirculation system for a multi-cylinder engine is provided, which includes an exhaust manifold connected to a cylinder head, a catalyst connected to a downstream end of the exhaust manifold in terms of an exhaust gas flow, an EGR gas outlet provided downstream of the catalyst, an in-head EGR passage penetrating the cylinder head, and an EGR pipe extending from the EGR gas outlet and directly connected to an inlet of the in-head EGR passage to lead EGR gas thereto. The catalyst is disposed so that the exhaust gas flows therein from a first side to a second side in an engine cylinder lined-up direction. The EGR gas outlet is located on the second side with respect to the center of the engine in the cylinder lined-up direction, and the inlet of the in-head EGR passage is located in the first side with respect to the engine center.

摘要: Interference between an intake manifold and a fuel pipe during a vehicle front collision is prevented in an engine which is longitudinally mounted in an engine room. A vehicle component is arranged on the front side of an intake manifold, and a fuel pipe is arranged on the rear side of the intake manifold. The intake manifold includes a mounting portion on the intake-air downstream end side of a plurality of independent intake pipe portions and connects each of the plurality of independent intake pipe portions to a portion of the engine on one side of the engine in the vehicle width direction. The mounting portion has a front-side mounting portion relatively positioned on the front side and a rear-side mounting portion relatively positioned on the rear side, and the rear-side mounting portion has a higher rigidity than the front-side mounting portion.

摘要: An intake device of an engine comprises an intercooler, an intake passage including a downstream-side intake passage, and an EGR passage recirculating exhaust gas to the downstream-side intake passage. An intake-air supply opening having an opening area smaller than an area of a downstream-side face of an intercooler core is provided at a downstream side wall of a chamber. The downstream-side intake passage includes an extension passage portion extending upwardly along the downstream side wall. The intake-air supply opening includes an upper edge portion which separates the intake air flowing from an inside wall face of the extension passage portion and forms flowing main streams of the intake air inside the extension passage portion. EGR introduction ports are arranged at positions capable of supplying the EGR gas toward the flowing main streams.
