摘要: The present disclosure aims to improve circulation of intake air and distribution of bypass intake air to cylinders, while reducing an increase in the overall height of an engine. A supercharger extends along a cylinder bank at a side of a surge tank extending along the cylinder bank. A bypass pipe branching off from an upstream intake pipe configured to introduce the intake air into the supercharger extends along the cylinder bank above the supercharger. A downstream side intake pipe configured to guide the intake air from the supercharger to the surge tank extends downward from the supercharger. The downstream intake pipe is, in a U-shape as viewed along the cylinder bank, connected to the surge tank.

摘要: An exhaust passage 53 includes: a first passage (high-speed passages 24b, 25b, and 26b); and a second passage (low-speed passages 24c, 25c, and 26c). A turbine housing 560 is connected to the exhaust passage 53 downstream from the collector 54. An exhaust device 100 of an engine 1 includes a valve (an exhaust variable valve 3) to open and close the first passage. A controller (an engine controller 7) closes the valve if an engine speed of the engine 1 is lower than a predetermined engine speed and opens the valve if the engine speed of the engine 1 is higher than or equal to the predetermined engine speed. The controller opens the valve even though the engine speed of the engine 1 is lower than the predetermined engine speed if performing the fuel cut control.

摘要: The present disclosure aims to stabilize, in an engine with a supercharger, a detection result of an intake air temperature sensor interposed between the supercharger and an intercooler. A gas outlet of a supercharger and a gas inlet of an intercooler are connected together via a second passage. The second passage includes, in its middle position, a narrow region with a smaller cross-sectional area than the part of the second passage extending from an upstream end of the second passage to the middle position. The narrow region is provided with the intake air temperature sensor configured to detect the gas temperature in the narrow region.

摘要: An opening/closing valve structure for an engine is provided with a valve body for opening and closing an intake passage or an exhaust passage of the engine; a pair of bush members mounted on axial ends of the valve body; and a shaft member axially passing through one of the bush members and projecting from the bush member by a predetermined length within one end of the valve body. Each of the bush members is mounted in such a manner that a part of the bush member is axially received in an end of the valve body and the remaining part thereof axially projects from the end of the valve body. A portion of the shaft member projecting from the one of the bush members is connected to the valve body in such a manner that relative rotation of the shaft member with respect to the valve body is disabled.

摘要: Disclosed is an exhaust gas recirculation system for an engine (1), wherein at least a downstream sub-region of a region of an exhaust passage (33) upstream of a turbine wheel (52) is divided into two sub-passages (R1, R2) by a partition wall (20a, 30a) extending along an exhaust gas flow direction. A high-speed sub-passage (R2) in the two sub-passages (R1, R2) is equipped with an openable-closable exhaust variable valve (23). The exhaust variable valve (23) is configured to be controlled to open the high-speed sub-passage (R2) when an engine speed is equal to or greater than a reference speed, and close the high-speed sub-passage (R2) when the engine speed is less than the reference speed. An inlet (60a) of an EGR passage (60) on the side of the exhaust passage (33) is opened to the high-speed sub-passage (R2) at a position downstream of the exhaust variable valve (23).

摘要: A multi-cylinder gasoline engine is provided. The engine includes an engine body having a plurality of cylinders, an exhaust manifold through which exhaust gas discharged from each of the cylinders of the engine body passes, and a controller for controlling various instruments provided to the engine body and the exhaust manifold. The engine body includes a switch mechanism. The exhaust manifold includes a plurality of independent exhaust passages, a gathering section, a negative pressure generating device, bypass passages, and openable-and-closable flow switch valves. The controller controls the injector, the ignition plug, the switch mechanism, and the flow switch valve so that a CI combustion is performed within a predetermined first operating range and an SI combustion is performed within a second operating range set on a higher engine load side than the first operating range.
