    摘要: An intake module of a fresh air system for an internal combustion engine may include a housing having openings through which fresh air is flowable, and a control device for controlling a cross-section of the openings. The control device may include at least one control staff rotationally mounted about an axis rotation on the housing by at least one bearing bracket, and at least one control valve rotationally fixed on the control shaft for at least one of the openings. The housing may have at least one bearing receiving portion having an insertion opening through which the bearing bracket may be inserted in an insertion direction oriented perpendicularly to the axis of rotation. The bearing bracket may have a first bearing part having a first bearing section on which the control shaft rests with a circumferential section, and a second bearing part having a second bearing section opposite the first bearing section on which the control shaft rests with a second circumferential section opposite the first circumferential section. The bearing parts may each have an inner surface facing one another in a transverse direction perpendicular to the axis of rotation and insertion direction, and at least one flat positioning surface extending perpendicularly to the transverse direction and raised from the inner surface. The positioning surfaces of the first and second bearing parts may rest flat against each other, and a gap may be formed in the transverse direction between the inner surfaces outside the positioning surfaces.

    摘要: A coupling unit includes an output gear, a coupling and a rubber cushion. A second rotatable shaft portion of the coupling includes a resilient projection that projects outwardly in a radial direction from an outer peripheral surface of the second rotatable shaft portion. The resilient projection is resiliently inwardly deformed in the radial direction during movement of the resilient projection along a deep side of a recessed groove of a through-hole formed in a first rotatable shaft portion of the output gear at a time of fitting the second rotatable shaft portion into the through-hole. When the resilient projection projects from the through-hole, the resilient projection is resiliently outwardly restored and is engaged to an engaging portion of the first rotatable shaft portion to limit removal of the second rotatable shaft portion from the through-hole.

    摘要: Methods and systems are provided for adjusting charge motion control devices coupled to a series of cylinders organized into cylinder groups, one of the cylinder groups including a dedicated EGR cylinder group wherein the cylinders are the only engine cylinder routing exhaust to an engine intake. In one example, a first cylinder group may be a dedicated cylinder group recirculating exhaust to the intake manifold while a second cylinder group may be a non-dedicated cylinder group routing exhaust to a turbine. A method may include adjusting a first charge motion control device coupled to the first cylinder group and a second charge motion control device coupled to the second cylinder group to vary a charge motion level between the first and second cylinder groups.

    摘要: Provided is an internal combustion engine including a sparkplug disposed in the vicinity of the center portion of an upper wall surface of a combustion chamber. Tumble flow generated during lean burn operation is controlled such that the tumble flow shape changes according to the engine rotation speed between a first tumble shape (usual tumble shape) in which the flow direction of a gas around the sparkplug at the time of ignition is direction from an intake valve side toward an exhaust valve side in a latter half of a compression stroke, and a second tumble shape (ω tumble shape) in which the flow direction of the gas is reversed in the latter half of the compression stroke from the direction from the intake valve side toward the exhaust valve side to the direction from the exhaust valve side toward the intake valve side.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine can include a combustion volume within a cylinder of an internal combustion engine. The combustion volume can be defined at least by a cylinder wall and a first piston in the cylinder. A swirl port can deliver a fluid into the combustion volume via a swirl port outlet such that the delivered fluid is directed around a periphery of the cylinder with a fluid velocity disposed at a predetermined angle away from tangential to a curve of the cylinder wall to generate a swirling motion in the combustion volume.

    摘要: A vortex generator is disclosed for flow of a fluid. The vortex generator includes a housing that includes a passage through which the fluid flows. The vortex generator also includes a valve that is movably coupled to the housing between a fully closed position and a fully open position for changing flow of the fluid in the passage. The valve includes an open portion that defines a main aperture for generating a vortex in the flow of the fluid. Also, the valve has an intermediate position between the fully closed position and the fully open position. The housing further includes a recessed portion such that the recessed portion of the housing and the valve cooperate to define a sub-aperture through which the fluid flows when the valve is positioned in the intermediate position. A method of manufacturing the vortex generator is also disclosed.

The tumble system is provided with at least one throttle valve for varying the section of passage of air through an intake pipe, which connects a cylinder with the intake manifold. The throttle valve has a throttle butterfly mounted so as to rotate under the thrust of an actuator device equipped with at least one actuator element, which is made of a shape-memory material that generates a torque by modifying its own geometry following upon application of an external stress of a physical nature.
