    摘要: A preamble of a physical layer (PHY) data unit that conforms to a first communication protocol is generated. The preamble includes a legacy field that is formatted according to a second communication protocol, and a signal field having a first orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol and a second OFDM symbol. The first OFDM symbol (i) immediately follows the legacy field and (ii) is modulated using binary phase shift keying (BPSK) modulation, whereas a third communication protocol specifies that an OFDM symbol, defined by the third communication protocol, that immediately follows the legacy field is modulated using BPSK modulation rotated by 90 degrees (Q-BPSK). The second OFDM symbol (i) immediately follows the first OFDM symbol and (ii) is modulated using Q-BPSK to indicate to a receiver device that conforms to the first communication protocol that the data unit conforms to the first communication protocol.

    摘要: Systems and technique for wireless communication are described. A describe technique includes transmitting, from a first device, a request to send (RTS) to the second devices to protect a wireless communication neighborhood of the first device and wireless communication neighborhood of the second devices for transmission of a multi-user frame; receiving clear to send (CTS) responses from the second devices; determining a bandwidth width for the multi-user frame based on a bandwidth availability among the second devices as indicated by the CTS responses and bandwidth indications included in the CTS responses, the multi-user frame comprising spatially steered data frames that are respectively intended for the second devices and are in accordance with the determined bandwidth width; and transmitting the multi-user frame to the identified devices in accordance with the determined bandwidth width.

    摘要: A device for wirelessly communicating between one or more mobile communication devices over a wireless network. A primary mobile communication device is configured to establish one or more connections to one or more secondary mobile communication devices. The primary mobile communication device is further configured to establish a first connection and a second connection to at least one of the secondary mobile communication devices. The first connection is a Bluetooth (BT) connection and the second connection is a Wireless Fidelity (WiFi) connection. The primary mobile device is also configured to establish a third connection to another secondary mobile communication device wherein the third connection is a WiFi connection. Additionally, the primary mobile communication device is configured to simultaneously maintain the BT connection and the WiFi connections during the bi-directional transmission of data between the primary mobile communication device and the secondary mobile communication devices.

    摘要: A wireless network device includes a physical layer module configured to send and receive packets wirelessly. The wireless network device includes a mesh routing module configured to receive a first packet from a second wireless network device via the physical layer module. The first packet includes a metric and a source address. The mesh routing module is further configured to determine a cumulative metric based on (i) the metric from the first packet and (ii) a link metric. The mesh routing module is further configured to transmit a second packet to a third wireless network device via the physical layer module. The second packet includes the cumulative metric. The mesh routing module is further configured to determine the link metric based on (i) a state of charge of a power supply of the wireless network device and (ii) a transmission parameter of the second packet.

    摘要: In a method for generating a physical layer (PHY) data unit for transmission via a communication channel, information bits to be included in the PHY data unit are encoded using a forward error correction (FEC) encoder. Also, the information bits are encoded according to a block coding scheme, where m copies of each bit are included in the information bits, and one or more bits in the m copies of each bit are flipped. The information bits are mapped to a plurality of constellation symbols, and a plurality of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols are generated to include the plurality of constellation symbols. The PHY data unit is generated to include the plurality of OFDM symbols.

A described technique includes generating a physical frame, the physical frame including (i) spatially steered length fields and (ii) spatially steered frames that respectively include aggregated medium access control data units (A-MPDUs) that encapsulate data, the steered length fields respectively indicating lengths of the A-MPDUs in number of four-octet units. Generating the physical frame can include including after an A-MPDU of the A-MPDUs in a steered frame of the steered frames, (i) a medium access control layer pad and (ii) a physical layer pad. A length of the medium access control layer pad and a length of the physical layer pad can be based on the physical frame.

    摘要: A receiver including a physical layer module and a processing module. The physical layer module is configured to receive a packet via a medium. The packet includes a first preamble followed by a second preamble. The first preamble is generated based on a first data rate. The second preamble is generated based on a second data rate. Each of the first preamble and the second preamble includes a duration of the packet. The processing module is configured to process (i) the first preamble in response to the receiver operating at the first data rate or (ii) the second preamble in response to the receiver operating at the second data rate. The processing module is configured to determine whether to defer accessing the medium for the duration of the packet based on the processing of the first preamble or the second preamble.
