Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide an apparatus that includes a receiving circuit and a processing circuit. The receiving circuit is configured to receive signals transmitted from a second apparatus to the apparatus and generate digital samples in response to the received signals. The signals have a plurality of resource elements. The processing circuit is configured to receive the digital samples, process the digital samples to generate symbols carried by the resource elements, detect control channel assistance information at a predetermined position of the resource elements and detect control information based on the detection of the control channel assistance information.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for adaptively switching network connections based on scenario detection for slave mobile devices. In one embodiment, the slave mobile device monitors a plurality of sensor inputs and one or more high-layer configuration in a wide area wireless network, wherein the mobile device is configured with capabilities to keep communication to the wide area wireless network through a master device of a corresponding local connection network, generates a scenario indication based on a scenario matrix of the plurality of sensor inputs and the one or more high-layer configuration, and between the wide area wireless network and the local connection network upon determining a switch trigger based on the scenario indication and one or more lower-layer reports. In one embodiment, each indicated scenario is determined based on one or more factors including the one or more sensor inputs and the one or more high-layer configuration.

Abstract: A communication apparatus includes an antenna module, a radio transceiver and a processor. The radio transceiver transmits or receives wireless radio frequency signals to or from an air interface via the one or more antennas of the antenna module. The processor is configured to determine an actual communication capability of the communication apparatus, determine a reduced communication capability of the communication apparatus according to the actual communication capability, and report the reduced communication capability instead of the actual communication capability as a communication capability of the communication apparatus to a network device. The processing circuitry can be configured to detect, from the signals, a high speed rail (HSR) signature of one of the wireless service provider networks. The HSR signature can indicate that the one of the wireless service provider networks is a first network for a high speed rail usage. The processing circuitry can also be configured to determine a mobility of the electronic device based on the signals in a time duration. Further, the processing circuitry can be configured to selectively camp on a first cell of the first network based on the mobility of the electronic device.

Abstract: The invention provides a communication device and a communication method. The communication device with at least a first antenna and a second antenna includes a switch element, a transceiver, and an antenna selection and control module. The switch element is coupled to the first antenna and the second antenna. The transceiver is coupled to the switch element. The antenna selection and control module controls the switch element to switch between the first antenna and the second antenna, such that the first antenna and the second antenna are respectively set as an operating antenna and a non-operating antenna. In one or more busy time periods of the operating antenna, the transceiver measures a first communication quality parameter of the operating antenna. In one or more idle time periods of the operating antenna, the transceiver measures a second communication quality parameter of the non-operating antenna.
