    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method for physical broadcast channel (PBCH) processing at a base station (BS) in a wireless communication system. The method can include performing a channel coding process to generate encoded PBCH data at the BS. The encoded PBCH data is to be carried in a synchronization signal block (SS block) having an SS block index (SBI), and transmitted from a cell having a cell ID. The method can further include performing a second scrambling over the encoded PBCH data with a second scrambling code determined based on the cell ID and the SBI to generate second scrambled PBCH data.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for virtual carrier operation in wireless systems with large carrier bandwidth. In one novel aspect, virtual carrier (VC) with a block of physically contiguous radio resources within a component carrier is configured. In one embodiment, the UE configures a downlink (DL) common virtual carrier (CVC) and an uplink (UL) CVC, which carry control information for the UE, and one or more DL/UL dedicated VCs (DVCs), which carry data services. In one embodiment, the UE obtains the CVC configuration information including the channel bandwidth and the physical location through system information. In another embodiment, the UE obtains DVC configuration through a RRC-layer signaling. In another novel aspect, the UE obtains a VC configuration switch command through either a MAC signal or a PHY signal, and subsequently reconfigures one or more configured VCs based on the received switch command.

In another novel aspect, The UE performs an initial access through a first RF band with a first bandwidth and a first center frequency, receives a switching signal to switch from the first RF band to a second RF band with a second bandwidth and a second center frequency, wherein the second bandwidth is different from the first bandwidth, and performs a RF bandwidth adaptation from the first RF band to the second RF band based on the adaptation signal.

    Abstract: A Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) feedback scheme that employs a multi-state NACK feedback processing is proposed. A transport block (TB) contains a plurality of code blocks (CBs). When all CBs of the TB are successfully decoded, a one-bit TB ACK is feedback. When at least one CB of the TB is not correctly decoded, a one-bit TB NACK is feedback. In addition, a multi-bit HARQ CB NACK feedback is provided. The multi-bit HARQ CB NACK can point more precisely to the erroneous parts of the TB and trigger efficient retransmission by skipping retransmission of successfully decoded CBs. The network can disable the multi-bit CB NACK for certain UEs, e.g., to reduce overhead. The UE can disable the multi-bit CB NACK, e.g., to save power.

    Abstract: A flexible radio frame structure for both FDD and TDD is proposed. Under the flexible frame structure, each radio frame consists of a plurality of slots, and each slot within a radio frame has a flexible slot type. As a basic scheduling unit, each slot can be configured by the base station via physical layer signaling. The slot type can be changed dynamically based on current system needs to support different DL/UL ratios and latency requirements. With the support of different slot types and asynchronous DL/UL HARQ operation, HARQ operation for DL/UL can share the same HARQ timing to simplify the system design and reduce implementation complexity.

    Abstract: A method of new radio physical broadcast channel (NR-PBCH) bit mapping is proposed to improve for NR-PBCH decoding performance under Polar codes. NR-PBCH carries 32 information bits and 24 CRC bits. Specifically, NR-PBCH uses 512-bit Polar codes to carry total 56 data bits. Different Polar code bit channels have different channel reliability. As a general rule, the most reliable Polar code bit channels are used for the 56 data bits. In accordance with a novel aspect, within the 32 NR-PBCH information bits, some of the information bits that can be known to the decoders under certain conditions and therefore are placed at the least reliable Polar code bit positions. As a result, by mapping the NR-PBCH data bits properly at the input bit positions of Polar codes, the NR-PBCH decoding performance is improved when the known bits a priori can be exploited.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for UE-assisted tethering report. In one novel aspect, UE-assisted tethering report is generated with UE-assisted procedure based on latency measurement configuration. In one embodiment, the UE-assisted tethering report includes one or more elements comprising one bit to inform the activation of tethering mode, latency of packet transmission, and other side-information related to tethering path. In one embodiment, the UE-assisted procedure is inserting a measurement timestamp or recording timing of a predefined transport block (TB) of the packet. In another novel aspect, the UE performs a jitter measurement for an extended reality (XR) traffic, sends a UE-assisted information report for an end-to-end path of the XR traffic based on the jitter measurements, wherein the UE-assisted information includes one or more elements comprising jitter information and burst arrival time.
