Abstract:
A method of multi user multiple input multiple output (MIMO) communication in a wireless local area network (WLAN) system; and a transmitting device therefore are discussed. The method according to an embodiment includes generating an Aggregate-Medium Access Control Protocol Data Unit (A-MPDU) including an A-MPDU subframe, the A-MPDU subframe including a Medium Access Control Protocol Data Unit (MPDU) delimiter field; and selecting a type of a guard interval. When the A-MPDU is generated for a plurality of receiving devices, the transmitting device selects a short guard interval only if all of the plurality of receiving devices support the short guard interval. The MPDU delimiter field includes a null field and an MPDU length field, the null field indicates a corresponding A-MPDU subframe is used to pad the A-MPDU, and the MPDU length field indicates a length of an MPDU. The null field is a 1-bit information field.
Abstract:
A method of transmitting information on a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) in a wireless local area network system is provided. A responding station receives a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) from a requesting station, configures a MCS feedback (MFB) based on the PPDU, and transmits feedback information to the requesting station. If the MFB is configured as a response to a MFB request (MRQ) of the requesting station, the feedback information includes the configured MFB and a MFB type field indicating that the MFB is configured as a response to the MRQ of the requesting station. If the MFB is not configured as a response to the MRQ of the requesting station, the feedback information includes the configured MFB, a MFB type field indicating that the MFB is not configured as a response to the MRQ of the requesting station, and coding information indicating a PPDU coding type.

The method according to one embodiment includes generating, by a transmitting station, a physical layer convergence procedure (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU), the PPDU including a signal field and a data field; and transmitting, by the transmitting station, the PPDU to the receiving station. The signal field includes a class type indicating whether a transmission type of the PPDU is an uplink transmission or a downlink transmission.
Abstract:
A method of performing link adaptation in a wireless local area network system by a mobile station The mobile station receives a first physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) transmitted by an access point (AP) via multi-user multiple input/multiple output (MU MIMO) transmission to a plurality of mobile stations. The first PPDU includes a first feedback sequence identifier that includes a value identifying the plurality of mobile stations. When the mobile station is one of the plurality of mobile stations identified by the value included by the first feedback sequence identifier, a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) is estimated based on the first PPDU. The mobile station transmits a second PPDU to the AP. The second PPDU includes channel information about the estimated MCS and a second feedback sequence identifier. The second feedback sequence identifier includes the value included by the first feedback sequence identifier.
Abstract:
A method, and a device, for reporting channel state information (CSI) in a wireless local area network system are discussed. The method according to one embodiment includes receiving, by a responding station, a sounding Physical layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) from a requesting station; and transmitting, by the responding station, a CSI report to the requesting station, the CSI report including CSI report information in a form of angles representing a beamforming feedback matrix that is estimated by the responding station based on the sounding PPDU. If the sounding PPDU is received via a plurality of contiguous channels, the beamforming feedback matrix is estimated based on all of the plurality of contiguous channels. If the sounding PPDU is received via at least one of a plurality of non-contiguous channels, the beamforming feedback matrix is estimated based on only one of the plurality of non-contiguous channels.
