There is provided an ultra-small size broadband coupler. A Lange coupler according to an embodiment includes: first lines which are formed in a spiral shape, and have a first port and a second port formed at one end thereof and have connection ends formed at the other end thereof; and second lines which are formed in a spiral shape, and have connection ends formed at one end thereof to be connected to the connection ends of the first lines, and have a third port and a fourth port formed at the other end thereof. Accordingly, the Lange coupler maintains broadband characteristics while minimizing its area, so that it is possible to design a small component for mobile communication and to noticeably reduce an insertion loss.
Abstract:
A radio frequency (RF) switch with a transformer and a switching method thereof are provided. The RF switch includes a transmitting end transformer having a primary side connected to a transmitting end and a secondary side connected to an antenna; and a receiving end transformer having a primary side connected to the antenna and a secondary side connected to a receiving end. In a transmission mode, the transmitting end transformer is tuned on, and, in a reception mode, the receiving end transformer is turned on. Accordingly, since switching is performed based on transformers rather than transistors connected in series, the RS switch, which can achieve high linearity and low insertion loss as well as high isolation, can be implemented.

A down-frequency conversion circuit and up-frequency conversion circuit, and a receiver and transmitter applying the same are provided. The down-frequency conversion circuit includes a harmonic mixer and general mixer, and thus becomes able to convert frequency using one LO (Local Oscillator) frequency, thereby reducing burden on generating LO frequency.

Provided is a switch having a structure having an excellent isolation characteristic even without a limiter in an ultrahigh frequency hand used for a military component. A switch according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: multiple transistors which are connected in parallel to a path from an input terminal toward an output terminal and perform switching; and a first transmission line provided between the input terminal and a node on a path to which a first transistor is connected. By the present invention, switching can be performed in an ultrahigh frequency such as W-band while a GaN transistor is used, an insertion loss is low, an isolation characteristic is excellent, and eventually efficiency of an ultrahigh frequency circuit can be further enhanced.

Provided is a lower power and high efficiency millimeter-wave modulation apparatus capable of modulating digital data into transmitting signals in a millimeter frequency band, the millimeter-wave modulation apparatus including; a modulation part, which carries out a modulation of a constant envelope attribute, and to which a first local oscillation signal is fixed according to a rate of input data; a phase shifter adopted to shift a phase of an output of the modulation part; a power amplifier adopted to amplify an output of the phase shifter; and an antenna connected to an output of the power amplifier.

An impedance matching circuit is provided. The present impedance matching circuit is able to match impedance using a transformer which is arranged inside a dielectric substrate and arranged to overlap with a bonding pad area and an end of a transmission line, thereby enabling transmitting signals at a desired frequency with a minimum insertion loss without using a very thin transmission line which is several to dozens of μm wide or specially designed antennas in order to compensate for inductance. Thus, the present impedance matching circuit may be applied to various millimeter bands.

A high-efficiency high-integrated receiver is provided. The radar receiver according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a receiver configured to receive a radar signal, a processor configured to attenuate a magnitude of a low frequency band of the received signal of the receiver, a filter configured to perform a low pass filtering on an output signal of the processor, and an ADC configured to A/D convert the output signal of the filter. Accordingly, it is possible to demodulate all the signals being reflected from targets in various distances when even using a low resolution ADC, thereby reducing the manufacturing cost and power consumption.

A hybrid type transceiver for broadband large area beamforming is provided. A communication device includes: antennas; first phase shifters (PSs) configured to adjust respective phases of reception signals received via the antennas; and a first time delay (TD) configured to adjust delays for the reception signals the phases of which are adjusted at the first PSs. Accordingly, in designing a broadband communication system using a large area array antenna, the structure of the system can be simplified, a size can be reduced, power consumption can be reduced, and a resolution of the system can be enhanced.

A power amplifier using an equivalent transformer is provided. The power amplifier includes amplifiers and T lines having first terminals connected to the amplifiers and second terminals connected to output sides. Accordingly, powers are combined using the equivalent transformer in the power amplifier, such that an insertion loss can be reduced and thus degradation of output power efficiency can be prevented.

Provided is a 5G dual port beamforming antenna. The beamforming antenna according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a plurality of patch antennas, and the patch antenna includes: a first patch positioned on an upper portion; a second patch positioned on a left side under the first patch and having a plurality of feeding ports formed thereon; a third patch positioned on an upper portion of a right side of the second patch; and a fourth patch positioned on a lower portion of the right side of the second patch. Accordingly, 3D wide angle beamforming is possible in an antenna to be used in 5G mobile communication systems, military radar systems, etc.
