摘要： An image scanning apparatus and method accurately sense a leading edge and a tail edge of a scanned document and determine the leading margin and the tail margin of the document. The image scanning method includes feeding the document to a scanning position through a feeding path according to a command to scan the document; operating a sensor unit disposed on the feeding path according to a location of the document; scanning the document in response to operation of the sensor unit; sensing a leading edge of each document using a document sensing pattern disposed oppositely to the scanning unit; and scanning the document when the leading edge of the document is sensed.

An exemplary carrier tape winding unit may include a carrier tape adhesion member attaching a front end of a carrier tape before winding or a cut back end of the carrier tape after a completion of winding the carrier tape to a winding reel. The exemplary carrier tape winding unit may further include a reel replacement member that automatically replaces the winding reel with another one after the completion of winding the carrier tape to the winding reel on a rotation axis by movement of a rotation axis and an axis support member in a direction. This direction is perpendicular to a transfer direction of the carrier tape toward the winding reel.

摘要： An image forming apparatus capable of resizing an image, and a method of resizing the image of the image forming apparatus. A scanning unit scans a document to generate an image. A storage unit stores a target file size to be applied during storing of the generated image before the document is scanned. An image processor resizes an initial file size of the image generated by the scanning unit so that the initial file size approaches the target file size. A controller stores the image having the resized file size in at least one of an external memory connected to the image forming apparatus and the storage unit installed in the image forming apparatus. As a result, a scanned image can be resized to a size desired by a user and then stored in the external memory before the scanned image is stored.
