Disclosed herein is a panel for wide-angle flat cathode ray tubes. The panel includes a face part formed at the front part thereof for displaying a picture, a skirt part having a seal edge joined with the funnel, and a blend round part connected between the face part and the skirt part. On the assumption that the compression stress of a center part, which is the center region of the face part, is σ1, and the compression stress of an edge part, which is the edge region of the face part adjacent to the blend round part, is σ2, the panel is constructed such that the following inequality is satisfied: 1.5≦σ2/σ1≦2.33. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of satisfying the safety of the explosion-resistance characteristic and compensating for the reduction of vacuum strength, which is caused when the deflection angle of the cathode ray tube is increased and the panel is flattened.

Disclosed is an external electrode fluorescent lamp for use in a backlight improved in electrical discharge property by coating dielectric material on the inner sides of external electrodes. The external electrode fluorescent lamp comprises a lamp tube containing electric-discharge gas and fluorescent material to provide an electric-discharge space within the lamp tube; external electrodes arranged in a form of circumferentially surrounding outer surfaces of opposite ends of the lamp tube, wherein a discharge voltage is externally applied to the external electrode; and dielectric layers positioned on the inner wall of the lamp tube to correspond to the external electrodes, respectively.

An apparatus and methods for controlling broadcast channel access in a video display are provided. The apparatus includes at least one user input unit configured to preset one or more viewable-channel numbers and turn on/off a broadcast channel access mode of the video display, a memory configured to store the preset viewable channel numbers, a controller configured to output a channel selection control signal for selecting only the stored channel numbers when a broadcast channel access mode is turned on, and a channel selector configured for selecting only a required channel out of currently-received broadcast channels according to the channel selection control signal. The apparatus may also include a second user input unit configured to input a required channel number, and a display unit configured to display a video signal of the selected channel.

There is disclosed a method for processing cereal material that allows for a reduction of time required for steeping and a reduction in the number of unit operations in conventional corn wet milling. The method involves continuously and simultaneously having solvent absorbed by a cereal material and abrading the cereal material. There is disclosed also the use of products of the process in the production of fermentation feedstock. There is also disclosed also for the use fermentation feedstock.

A method for controlling a bit rate of an image is provided. The method comprises analyzing a motion level of the inputted image; classifying the inputted image into a picture category according to the image's number of intra-blocks; and controlling the image's bit rate by allocating a first quantization parameter value to an input frame when the inputted image is classified as a motion picture.

The present invention relates to a fungicidal composition for agricultural use, comprising Chloranthus henryi extract or a novel sesquiterpene compound separated from Chloranthus henryi extract as an active ingredient, and in particular it relates to a fungicidal composition supported by the findings that Chloranthus henryi extracts or a novel sesquiterpene compound has potent antifungal activities against phytopathogenic fungi.

In such a method, a mold insulating layer is formed on an insulating interlayer provided with a storage node plug, and the mold insulating layer is etched to form a hole through which the storage node plug is exposed. Next, a metal storage electrode with an interposed WN layer is formed on a hole surface including the exposed storage node plug and the mold insulating layer is removed. Finally, a dielectric layer and a plate electrode are formed in order on the metal storage electrode.

The liquid crystal display of a field sequential color type comprises an LCD panel having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix form defined by gate lines and data lines crossing each other, a sub-field time setting unit for selecting 1 horizontal period according to an externally input frame frequency and a first user-set signal and determining a wait period and a flash period corresponding to the 1 horizontal period according to second and third user-set signals, a timing controller for producing and outputting a gate control signal and a data control signal corresponding to the 1 horizontal period and the wait period and a light source control signal corresponding to the wait period and a re-aligned pixel data, a gate driver for sequentially outputting a scan pulse to the gate lines according to the gate control signal, a data driver for outputting a data voltage to the data lines every 1 horizontal period according to the data control signal, and a backlight unit for sequentially outputting red, green and blue light to the pixels, respectively, according to the control of the timing controller.
