摘要: A both-face automatic original feeding apparatus wherein a plurality of originals having images on their first and second surfaces are successively supplied from an original stacking portion to a predetermined position for reading an original, and each original is reversely rotated through a switch-back path after the first surface of the original passes through the predetermined position, thereby supplying the original to the predetermined position again to direct the second surface of the original to the predetermined position. In such a feeding apparatus, there is provided an introduction path for directing the original supplied from the original stacking portion to the predetermined position; a first discharge path for directing the original to the switch-back path after the original passes through the predetermined position; a surface reverse path for directing the original from the switch-back path to the predetermined position after reversing a first surface and a rear surface of the original; and a controller for controlling the apparatus in such a manner that a preceding original is switched back to convey it in the surface reverse path while a succeeding original is being passed through the predetermined position, and, when a trailing end of the succeeding original leaves the predetermined position, a tip end of the preceding original reaches the predetermined position.

摘要: A document reading device for applying light to a document placed on platen glass so as to read an image formed on the document. The device is provided with a light-screen. The width of the light-screen can be changed according to the document size in such a way that it is also possible to change the amount of light which can pass through the light-screen from a light source to be applied to the platen glass. With this arrangement, a local temperature increase in the platen glass can be inhibited during sequential document-reading.

摘要: An electrophotographic apparatus wherein a blank is formed at an end of a transfer material to make it easier to separate the transfer material from a photosensitive member and to prevent the transfer material from wrapping around an image fixing roller. A light reflecting portion is formed at a position corresponding to a leading edge of an original on an original supporting platen. The light reflecting portion receives light from an original illuminating lamp and reflects it to the region of the photosensitive member that has been opposed to a charger when the charge is switched from its non-operative state to an operative state.
