Abstract:
A disk storage drive is provided with a brushless drive motor having a stator with a winding. An external rotor housing including a permanent magnet coaxially surrounds the stator and is spaced therefrom by a substantially cylindrical air gap. A hub is provided that is concentric to the rotor housing and is connected to the rotor housing for rotation therewith. A bearing above the stator rotatably supports an upper end of the rotor housing on a stationary shaft and a bearing below the stator braces the open end of the rotor housing by a ring element having substantially the same heat expansion characteristics as the rotor housing.
Abstract:
A keyboard comprising a flexible-foil printed circuit in which an insulat foil or sheet substrate is provided with printed conductors and contact surfaces, in which the insulating foil sheet is provided with holes, and which includes a plurality of press buttons or keys associated with the contact surfaces, each key comprising an elastically deformable snap-action element which is adapted to be deformed upon actuation by means of an actuating button in order to bring the contact element into contact with the contact surface. The flexible-foil printed circuit comprises an insulating foil substrate having a thickness not exceeding 0.6 mm which is provided on both sides with printed conductors and on one side with electrical contact surfaces and/or contact elements. The conductors may be formed in separate printing steps for each side of the foil or sheet. Contacts extending through the holes in the substrate may be produced by means of the printing step itself during the printing of the conductors.
Abstract:
A process for the manufacture of a contact mat suitable for a keyboard or ypad is described. This contact mat is produced by the injection-moulding process and consists of a sheet-like composite body made of an electrically non-conductive two-component silicone rubber, and at least one carrier part, which is elastically deformable when pressure is applied to a key and is moulded out in the shape of a calotte. On the inside of the carrier part and in the pole region, there is a contact component which is made of an electrically highly conductive material. When the carrier part is depressed, an electrical connection is made via the contact component between the contact surfaces of a printed circuit located below the contact mat. In order to be able to manufacture the contact component in a simple manner and without waste, the contact component is made in an injection mould, wherein the entire lower mould part is at a temperature above the vulcanization temperature of the contact component. The upper cavity plate of the corresponding upper mould part consists of two halves of which one half is at a temperature below the vulcanization temperature. The contact component is produced by means of this half. Subsequently, a lower cavity plate of the lower mould part is rotated from this first into a second position, and the composite body and the carrier body are then moulded. This half of the upper cavity plate is at a temperature above the vulcanization temperature. Accordingly, all the curable components are vulcanized separately, even though they are moulded in the same mould.
Abstract:
A rotor assembly for an electric motor having a rotor shaft and at least one permanent magnet arranged on the rotor shaft. The rotor shaft with the permanent magnet is accommodated in a sleeve the rotor shaft being freely rotatable within the sleeve. The sleeve is closed off by a flange at a first end face. An inner-rotor electric motor having a stator and a rotor assembly of the type described above, with the stator being inserted over the sleeve of the rotor assembly.
Abstract:
Push button device having a parallel guide member between a button head and guide. A catch device holds the parallel guide member in a lock-in position so that the button head supporting the parallel guide member can be fitted easily to the guide. In the lock-in position, stop members of the parallel guide member are located in front of engraving slots. By pressing the button head, the parallel guide member is moved from the log-in position into the operating position. The stop members move into the engaging slots.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a sealing contacting system for the stator windings of spindle motors, which are provided for installation in the base plate of hard disk drives. The present invention has a peripheral, self-contained sealing surface free from interruptions, which avoids jumps or unevenness in the peripheral sealing region, eliminating previously unavoidable radial capillary gaps, so that hermetic sealing is produced between the region of the hard disks formed from clean space and the external ambient region.
Abstract:
A switch designed to be activated by touch contact has a switching chamberith contact surfaces on opposite sides thereof. A flexible switching film carries one of the contact surfaces and is arched over one side of the chamber. In order to prevent an increase in length of the switching film due to climatic effects from leading to incorrect switching, the switching film has at least one punctiform or linear deformation placed so as to cause the film to arch away from the opposite side of the chamber.
Abstract:
A plurality of switching points are connected in groups to respective teral contact points via conductor strips on a keyboard printer circuit film. In order to achieve suppression of the coupling capacitances with simple means, decoupling resistor strips are printed between adjacent pairs of the conductor strips and are connected with the said conductor strips. The decoupling resistor strips consist of the same carbon resistor layer material as the terminal contact points.
Abstract:
In a method for the manufacture of a spindle motor for a hard disk drive comprising a stator, a rotor and a hydrodynamic bearing arrangement that rotatably supports the rotor, it is provided that the hydrodynamic bearing arrangement is prefabricated and fixedly connected to the rotor or the stator in a prefabricated state.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a tool electrode for the electrochemical machining of workpieces, particularly for components for fluid bearings with the following processing steps: (a) Providing an electrode body made of a conductive base material which has an essentially smooth surface; (b) Coating the surface of the electrode body with an insulating material; (c) Removing the insulating material from locations on the surface of the electrode body that correspond to a pattern which is to be formed on the surface of the piece by means of electromechanical machining.
