    摘要: An intraocular lens, with equal conic surfaces, is intended to replace the crystalline lens in the posterior chamber of a patient's eye, in particular after a cataract extraction. The lens provides optical power to focus objects onto a patient's retina. In addition the lens surfaces are shaped to reduce optical aberrations at the retina and are tolerant to lens tilt and decentration within the eye. The lens is designed to have zero longitudinal ray aberrations at a specific ray height.

    摘要: A method of obtaining a retro-illumination image using the beacon from an ocular wavefront path and the camera for the corneal topography path of the combined system. A digital image of the retro-illuminated view of the IOL, iris pattern and sclera is obtained. An interactive display of the retro-illuminated image is presented to the user to allow them to identify the orientation marks on the IOL. These marks identify the orientation of the IOL and an overlay line can be used to display this orientation. In addition, a 360 degree overlay can be used to enhance the display of this orientation line.

    摘要: Presbyopic contact lenses that provide improved vision quality by use of optical zones which are not symmetric about the lens optical axis. The contact lens includes an optic body sized and configured to be received in an eye (or eyes) of a presbyopic patient having a front surface with a front optical center and a back surface with a back optical center, and having a lens optical axis intersecting the front surface at the front optical center and the back surface at the back optical center, and having optical zones which are not symmetric about the lens optical axis. The lens construction produces an asymmetric point spread function which enables any resulting asymmetric stray light to be steered in a predetermined direction.

    摘要: A method to reduce ocular chromatic aberrations using a lens or other spatial structure to selectively band-pass filter transmitted light of certain wavelengths. The ocular lens overcomes the negative effects of the wavelength band pass filter lenses while maintaining its ability to reduce the negative effects of chromatic aberration. The band-pass filter is applied in one or more concentric zones and or angular regions. The lens power is adjusted in concert with the band-pass filter wavelength to minimize aberrations. Variations include the application of the band-pass filter being applied to an angular region and no filter is applied to another. Alternatively the band-pass filter is not applied to one or more concentric ring regions and is applied to one or more angular regions. The band-pass filter can be applied to the surface of the lens or spatial structure, or applied to the lens material.

    摘要: The invention relates to the art of corneal topography. More specifically, the invention provides many methods and apparatuses for advancing the ease and accuracy of corneal topography. In addition to a front-view camera, one embodiment provides a side (temporal) view camera for viewing the cornea or other reflective surface. The side-view camera may capture a true image of the cornea as well as a reflected placido pattern. The information contained in these images provides capability to automatically find the apex, location of the limbus, vertical profile and curvature out to the limbus. These abilities lead to improved methods for autocalibration and autopositioning as well as other advantages in the field of corneal mapping.

    摘要: A method and apparatus related to enhancing corneal accommodation to address the effect of presbyopia. Corneal/scleral topology measurements in accommodating and non-accommodating states are indicative of a presbyopic subject's nominal corneal accommodative power. A desired accommodative power intended to improve on the effect of presbyopia can be determined, suggesting a selective biomechanical intervention in the corneal structure outside of the optical zone to create flexure regions. These flexure regions would allow enhanced corneal accommodation upon presentation of an accommodating stimulus. Intervention could be in the form of, for example, corneal surface ablation, intrastromal ablation, conductive keratoplasty (CK), laser thermal keratoplasty (LTK), and corneal and/or scleral implants. An improved topology measuring apparatus having an improved field of view and other attributes is disclosed.
