Abstract:
An ink carrier oil and water are separated from condensate. One embodiment includes first and second chambers for the separation. The first chamber receives the condensate and has an upper discharge outlet and a lower discharge outlet. The second chamber has an inlet connected to the lower outlet and a second chamber outlet below the upper discharge outlet such that separated carrier oil is discharged through the upper outlet. Separated water is discharged through the second chamber outlet. An interface between the separated carrier oil and water extends between the upper discharge outlet and the lower discharge outlet. In another embodiment, the carrier oil includes at least one of a high molecular weight oil, a lubricating oil and a defoamer. An additive having a lower concentration of the at least one of the high molecular weight oil, the lubricating oil and the defoamer is added to the carrier oil.

Abstract:
Improvements are realized in magnetic disc drives in minimizing servo gain variations from one head to another and in differing track offset positions by providing servo code patterns and methods of fabricating such patterns in which magnetic heads of differing widths overlap the same amount of servo code and in which servo gain variations in track offset positions are minimized by maintaining servo code overlap by the magnetic heads relatively constant up to substantially one-half track offsets of magnetic head.
Abstract:
Compensation for servo gain variations when connected to different magnetic heads in a disc memory drive is achieved by determining individual servo gain corrections for each magnetic head at several different selected tracks on the associated memory disc, storing the individual servo gain corrections and addressing a stored individual servo gain correction for each selected magnetic head for coupling to the servo to equalize servo gain when positioning each selected magnetic head at a selected track.
Abstract:
In an implementation of a printing system, an electrophotographic imaging plate electrostatically attracts a first concentration of an ink having a particular color. A developer unit is biased with a developer voltage and the first concentration of the ink is transferred onto the electrophotographic imaging plate from the developer unit according to the developer voltage. The electrophotographic imaging plate then electrostatically attracts a second concentration of the ink. The developer unit is biased with an adjusted developer voltage and the second concentration of the ink is transferred onto the electrophotographic imaging plate from the developer unit according to the adjusted developer voltage.
Abstract:
A system and method for minimizing distortion in printed images due to toner explosion receives the incoming image bit stream and monitors the stream for horizontal lines and edges that would be particularly susceptible to toner explosion distortion. When such features are determined, the bit stream is modified to print an outlined area with a fill pattern therein. This decreases the amount of toner used to print the horizontal line or edge. As less toner is required, toner piles transferred to the paper are shorter and, therefore, tend to generate less distortion when toner explosions occur.
Abstract:
A thin film transducer is provided for inductively recording and magnetoresistively reading magnetic information. The thin film magnetoresistive (MR) element is mounted on a bottom yoke member and is provided with means, which may be a pair of legs of the MR material extending in the same direction, so as to define a single magnetic domain in the MR element. The read conductor is provided in the form of a "barber pole" so that the angled transducer gap thereof overlies the magnetic domain in the MR element. The bottom yoke is a planar surface essentially dimensionless with respect to the other elements of the transducer head while the top yoke is specifically shaped so as to have a tail portion which overlies the write conductor and is parallel to the transducer gap in the read conductor.

One embodiment of a color filter includes a substrate and a color filter pattern formed on the substrate, the color filter pattern including at least two, substantially identical patterned layers.
