In the enclosure a fluid passes through the bed in a direction different from that of the flow of the assembly of the particles and issues from the bed by way of at least one grill. Disposed in the thickness of said bed in an intermediate wall (grill) such as to distribute the thrust forces produced by the fluid on the particles in the zones of the bed which are delimited in that way. Jamming of the particles against the grill or grills is greatly reduced and the admissible fluid flow rate is then decreased.

The catalyst drawn off from the final reaction zone is passed into a regeneration zone, at the outlet of which it is passed into a zone where it undergoes a steam treatment prior to its reintroduction into the first reaction zone. The process is performed in the presence of steam, so that the catalyst is in contact with 3 to 85 wt. % (based on the catalyst weight) of steam. A continuous process for the dehydrogenation of paraffinic and olefinic hydrocarbons in the presence of a catalyst comprises circulating a charge containing said paraffinic hydrocarbons through at least two reactions zones of the moving bed type which are arranged in series, the catalyst flowing successively in each reaction zone. The catalyst which is drawn off from the last reaction zone is sent to a regeneration zone at the exit from which it is reintroduced close to the first reaction zone. The process comprises the injection of sulphur and/or at least one sulphur compound before or simultaneously to the introduction of the charge into the first reaction zone. In accordance with the process, the catalyst which is drawn off from the last reaction zone is sent into a stripping zone wherein the sulphur which it contains is removed before the catalyst is sent to the regeneration zone.

The invention concerns a method of catalytic reforming in a plurality of fluidized bed type reaction zones located side by side, the catalyst circulating from zone to zone with the aid of elevating means and a carrier gas in the form of hydrogen. According to the invention, nitrogen is used as the elevating gas to raise the exhausted catalyst drawn off from the bottom of the last catalytic zone (through which the feedstock passes) to the top of the catalyst regenerating zone, and also to raise the regenerated catalyst to the top of the first catalytic zone through which the feedstock passes.
