Abstract:
In a telephone exchange comprising a central processor serving several satellite exchanges, a satellite is completely blocked when the cable which connects it to the processor is out of order. According to the invention, each pair of satellites is interconnected by means of a single communication channel so that the transfer of data between the processor and the satellite whose cable is out of order may be effected via another satellite.
Abstract:
There is disclosed an arrangement including a translator to derive two linear code signals from two compressed code signals and compressing the resultant sum of the two linear code signals in the translator after addition in an adder circuit. The translator comprises a shift register operating in two directions and a counter.
Abstract:
A bidirectional data transmission system for transmitting information between two terminal stations incorporating in each terminal station an arrangement for checking the received data and providing error correction when errors are detected in the received data. Each of the terminals include a memory for storing the m last words transmitted from that terminal. When an error is detected in one terminal, the transfer of received data to a data processor is blocked and a repetition request word is generated and transmitted to the other terminal. The other terminal detects the presence of the repetition request word in the received data and transmits a repetition start word and the last m data words stored in the memory to said one terminal to accomplish the error correction.
Abstract:
A PCM circuit adds the speech codes of subscribers who are participating in a conference call. A decoding circuit decodes two PCM codes, and the resulting analog voltages are added together. The sum of the analog voltages are reencoded and sent out to the other subscribers.
