摘要: While performing a tomosynthesis procedure, the breast of a patient is compressed between two compression elements to create an imaging condition. Foam is secured to the rigid substrate of a one of the compression elements. The patient's chest wall is aligned with the leading edge surface of the foam. The inner side of the breast is disposed proximate the lateral edge surface of the foam and the outer side of the breast is disposed proximate the outer lateral edge surface of the foam. A mid-plane is disposed between the inner and outer lateral edge surfaces of the foam. An interface connects a leading edge surface of the foam and compressive surfaces. A portion of the leading edge surface which is aligned with the mid-plane is incompletely compressed.

摘要: A tube arm assembly is rotatably connected to the floor mounted gantry of a breast imaging system. A support arm connected to the tube arm assembly can be independently rotated and positioned in a first angle, second angle, and a level position. A compression arm is configured to support a breast compression paddle and is linearly positionable on the support arm. Display screens and a sensor are disposed on an upper surface of the compression arm. Based on a signal received from the sensor, a controller is configured to change the read-ready orientation of each arm display.

In aspects, an activation signal may be received by an input processing system, such as a gesture recognition system, a voice recognition system, or a touch-based system. After receiving the activation signal, user input may be received by the input processing system. The user input may be processed to determine a current or applicable context. Based on the context, one or more actions corresponding to the user input may be identified. The input processing system may then cause the identified action(s) to be performed.
