    摘要: A floating head device has a floating surface for imparting a floating force for floating from a recording surface by air flow formed between the floating surface and the recording surface and a suction surface for imparting a sucking force in a relative movement of a head slider to the recording surface of a recording medium. The air inlet end of the suction surface has grooves and is disposed in down-stream of the air flow from the air inlet end of the floating surface.

    摘要: First and second gimbal springs are used for following precisely a magnetic head slider held by a head holder on a recording surface of a rotating magnetic disc. The head slider is held on a front surface of the first gimbal spring at the center and a pivot is fitted on the center of the second gimbal spring and the end of the pivot is contacted with the rear surface of the first gimbal spring at the center and the first and second gimbal springs are in flat in a free condition. During the working time when contacting the head slider with the recording surface in a floating condition, the gimbal spring in the side of the recording surface is in substantially flat whereas during the non-working time, both gimbal springs are formed to expand to both sides.

    摘要: A small light-weight thin film magnetic head apparatus for a rigid disk or a floppy disc. The apparatus includes a magnetic head formed directly on a distal end of a suspension as a thin layer, one end of the suspension being supported by an arm. This magnetic head is very small-sized and light-weight and has a head gap in direct contact with a recording medium, increasing the recording density and the read/write speed. Because of its reduced weight of the thin film magnetic head, a remarkably improved degree of followability with respect to the recording medium can be achieved. A method of manufacturing this magnetic head apparatus is also disclosed.

The positioning and the load spring members are superposed such that the tip of each pivot comes in contact with the central part of the rear surface of each floating head slider.
