Abstract: A dual stage actuated suspension has a first piezoelectric microactuator on the trace gimbal assembly (TGA), and a pseudo feature located laterally opposite the microactuator. The pseudo feature is formed integrally with the TGA from at least one of the base metal layer, the insulative layer, and the conductive layer that make up the TGA. The pseudo feature helps to balance the suspension. The suspension can optionally have a second microactuator located proximal of the first microactuator in order to perform coarser positioning than the first microactuator, such that the suspension is a tri-stage actuated suspension.

Abstract: A magnetic disk apparatus of one of the embodiments stores read position dependency information on read signal quality of a data region at a first track and measures the read signal quality at a predetermined radial position in a second data region of a second track different from the first track. A positioning error of the second data region is determined based on the read position dependency information and the read signal quality at the predetermined radial position. Data is recorded in a recording target data region in a shingled recording so as to prevent data written in the second data region from being overwritten by data in a recording target data region adjacent to the second data region by using the determined positioning error.

Abstract: A mirror mounting assembly for mounting a mirror on a vehicle bulkhead. The assembly includes a mirror element and a main support arm having a first end and a second end.
