Abstract: A method for inkjet nozzle spitting including conveying pages in a print direction along a transport through a printzone of a wide array printhead formed by a plurality of rows of nozzles disposed crosswise to the print direction, the nozzles to eject ink drops in accordance with print data. The method further includes maintaining a gap between pages as the gap moves through the printzone, and providing spit pattern data as print data to the printhead to successively activate each row of nozzles, in the print direction and in synchronism with movement of the gap, to eject ink drops from all nozzles of the row so that a position of the activated row of nozzles is maintained within the gap as the gap continuously moves through the printzone.

An example density engine identifies a plane region of a plane where print fluid is to be printed based on data of a print job and determines a density classifier for the plane based on a location of the plane region on the plane. Abstract: The direction and distance for traversal by a media loaded into the printer is determined. A skew to be induced in a position of the media relative to a media feed direction axis is also determined. A scheme of motion for the rollers is selected and respective speeds for the first roller and the second roller are calculated. The first roller and the second roller are caused to be rotated at the respective speeds such that the skew is induced in the position of the media relative to the media feed direction.

Abstract: According to an example, to eject print media from an image forming apparatus, a variable page feed velocity of a first page of print media exiting a feed zone is detected. An acceleration value and a deceleration value based on the variable page feed velocity of the first page is calculated. The calculated acceleration is applied to a media movement component in the output zone when the entire first page has cleared a media sensor in the front of the output zone, and the deceleration is applied when the tail end of the first page is in a brake zone. In some examples, a second page of print media and a variable page feed velocity of the second page exiting the feed zone is detected, and the media movement component in the output zone is accelerated to match the variable page feed velocity of the second page.

Abstract: A printer includes a printbar having plural dice partially overlap in the direction of rows and a halftoner. The dice receive nozzle firing data which determines when and where the individual print nozzles are to be operated in order to emit the colorant onto the media so as to form the desired printed image on a media. The halftoner is a bidirectional error diffusion halftoner that is structured to generate halftoned data. The halftoned data is mappable into the firing data. The halftoner includes a serpentine direction reverser which is structured to halftone print data image pixels in a first serpentine direction to form halftoned data and then to halftone print data image pixels in an opposite serpentine direction to form the halftoned data.
