    Abstract: A resource indication method in a wireless local area network is provided, where the method includes generating, by an access point, a data frame that includes a preamble, where the preamble includes a signaling indication part B (SIG-B), the SIG-B includes a common part and a user part following the common part. The common part is used to indicate a quantity of scheduled stations, identification information of the scheduled station, and a location of communication resource information of the scheduled station in the user part, the user part is used to indicate the communication resource information of the scheduled station, and the communication resource information includes resource indication information, MCS information of a data part, spatial flow quantity information, or power control information; and sending the data frame.

    Abstract: An embodiment method includes receiving, by an access point (AP), a first authentication request from a station (STA) that requests authentication of the STA, transmitting, by the AP, a second authentication request to a server that requests including extensible authentication protocol (EAP) authentication signaling to verify mutual possession of a shared key between the STA and the server, and receiving, by the AP, a first authentication response from the server in response to the second authentication request. The first authentication response includes an indication that authentication of the STA was successful. The method further includes transmitting, by the AP, a second authentication response to the STA, and receiving, by the AP, an association request that includes a message integrity code (MIC) from the STA.

    Abstract: An orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) frame includes a 256 tone payload. The 256 tone payload may consist of either 234 data tones when the payload is carried in a downlink transmission. The 256 tone payload may consist of 216 data tones when the payload is carried in an uplink transmission. In addition, the OFDMA frame may include one or more resource units (RUs). Each of the one or more RUs may consist of either an integer multiple of 26 data tones or an integer multiple of 24 data tones and 2 pilot tones. Another embodiment OFDMA frame comprises a symbol-based RU (SRU) that may include an integer multiple of 2 pilots tones and either an integer multiple of 24 data tones or an integer multiple of 26 data tones.
