    Abstract: According to embodiments, a UE receives, from a source cell, a mobility pre-configuration radio resource control (RRC) message for random-access channel (RACH)-less access. The mobility pre-configuration RRC message indicates target timing advance (TA) assistance information. The UE receives, from the source cell, a lower layer target access command. The lower layer target access command indicates a most updated or latest network-updated time sensitive dynamic TA assistance information. The UE determines a target cell TA of a target cell based on a latest source cell TA of the source cell, a latest measured timing difference between reference signals (RSs) from the source cell and from the target cell, the most updated or latest network-updated time sensitive dynamic TA assistance information, and the target TA assistance information. The UE performs the RACH-less mobility access to the target cell based on the target cell TA.

    Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a method for handover in a radio access network is provided, wherein the method includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a handover pre-configuration message from a source node serving the UE in the radio access network, the handover pre-configuration message including handover information of a target node in the radio access network, receiving, by the UE, an activation command from the source node after receiving the handover pre-configuration message, and transmitting, by the UE, an access request message to the target node in accordance with the handover information in response to receiving the activation command.

    Abstract: A method and system for mobility latency reduction in a hierarchical NR architecture is provided. In an embodiment, a method in a network component for handover of a UE includes configuring, by the network component, at least one TRP determined according to UE mobility information. The configuring the at least one target TRP is performed prior to the UE moving into a border area between the at least one target TRP and a first serving TRP. Configuring the at least one target TRP results in the at least one target TRP being configured to act as a secondary serving TRP to the UE. The method also includes configuring at least one target TRP and the UE with corresponding dedicated access resource and monitoring opportunities. The method also includes activating a connection and data communication between the UE and the at least one pre-configured secondary serving TRP.

    Abstract: Example methods for communicating based on route prediction and pre-preparation in a wireless network are provided. One example method includes determining, by a network entity, a predicted time of entering and a predicted duration of stay of a user equipment (UE) in each cell of a plurality of cells according to a predicted route of the UE, the predicted route including predicted UE locations at corresponding predicted times. The network entity can then determine mobility prediction information according to the predicted time of entering and the predicted duration of stay of the UE in each cell of the plurality of cells. The network entity can then transmit the mobility prediction information to the UE.
