Abstract: The present invention relates to a liquid feeding apparatus capable of feeding a liquid with high accuracy. The liquid feeding apparatus includes a liquid feeder having a downstream side, a plunger, and a cylinder that is configured for aspirating and discharging a solvent when a plunger slides. The liquid feeding apparatus further includes a pressure sensor for the solvent to be discharged, a selector valve configured to switch between a plurality of solvents to be aspirated and discharged, and a controller configured to control the liquid feeder and the selector valve. The controller controls the selector valve in synchronization with an aspiration operation of the plunger so that a mixing ratio of the solvents changes, controls the plunger to cause the plunger to operate at first and second accelerations that are different from each other, and suppresses a fluctuation of the solvent to be aspirated by the plunger.

Abstract: Provided are an ion source and a mass spectrometer that reduce a dead volume of the connecting part of a pipe to a capillary. An ion source has a capillary and a pipe. The capillary has a large-diameter part that forms a capillary upstream-side end face on an upstream side. The large-diameter part has a large-diameter part downstream side face on a downstream side. The pipe has a pipe downstream end face on the downstream side. A capillary retaining unit has a hole through which the capillary downstream-side end face is passable and a face on which the large-diameter part downstream side face is installable. The ion source includes a pipe retaining unit that retains the pipe. The capillary retaining unit and the pipe retaining unit are disposed such that the capillary upstream-side end face contacts the pipe downstream end face to connect the capillary to the pipe.

Abstract: The present invention implements an ion detector with which it is possible to avoid direct collisions of negative ions with a scintillator, prevent degradation of the scintillator, prolong life of the scintillator, reduce the need for maintenance, and perform highly sensitive detection of both positive and negative ions. With respect to a reference line 65 connecting a central point 63 of a positive ion CD 52 and a central point 64 of a counter electrode 54, a central point 66 of a negative ion CD 53 is provided in a region of a side opposite to a region of a side of a central point 67 of a scintillator 56. Positive ions entering from an ion entrance 62 receive a deflection force and collide with the positive ion CD 52 to generate secondary electrons. The generated secondary electrons collide with the scintillator 56 to generate light. The generated light passes through a light guide 59 and is detected by a photomultiplier tube 58. A negative potential barrier is generated along the reference line 65. Negative ions entering form the ion entrance 62 are attracted to and collide with the negative ion CD 53 to generate positive ions. The generated positive ions collide with the positive ion CD 52 to generate secondary electrons. The generated secondary electrons collide with the scintillator 56 and are detected by the photomultiplier tube 58.
