摘要:
A method for the indirect application of printing liquid onto a printing material provides an intermediate carrier, preferably a circulating belt, a liquid conditioning medium including a first substance applied onto the intermediate carrier and a printing liquid, in particular an inkjet ink, including a second substance applied onto the conditioning medium on the intermediate carrier. The printing liquid is situated as droplets or a layer substantially on the conditioning medium and the droplets or the layer form a contact region on their underside with the conditioning medium. The printing liquid is heated, preferably by way of a dryer and the printing liquid is transferred from the intermediate carrier onto the printing material.

A method for printing a print control strip onto a sheet of printing material. The print control strip is divided into strip sections and the strip sections are printed into gripper gaps at the leading sheet edge and/or the trailing sheet edge of the sheet. In a variant embodiment, there is also printed a print control strip onto two sheets of printing material. The print control strip is divided into at least two portions of respective strip sections and the strip sections of a first portion and of a second portion are printed into respective gripper gaps at at least one sheet edge of a first sheet and of a second sheet, respectively. Waste production is eliminated or at least reduced and costs are thus lowered.

A method for detecting and compensating for defective printing nozzles in an inkjet printing machine by using a computer, includes shrinking the height of a digitally available image to the image height of a print control strip by using the computer while the image width remains uninfluenced, printing the shrunk digital image onto a printing substrate, recording the printed shrunk digital image by using at least one image sensor, comparing the recorded image with the shrunk digital image by using the computer, detecting defective printing nozzles for the digital image by using the computer based on the comparison and compensating for the detected defective printing nozzles. The digital image is printed onto the following printing substrate by using defective printing nozzle compensation.

An offset printing method includes creating halftone dots corresponding to a printed image and formed of printing ink, on a surface of a transfer cylinder and transferring the halftone dots to a printing substrate while the transfer cylinder rotates about its longitudinal axis. A halftone value in a printed image on the printing substrate is adjusted to a desired value by modifying a halftone dot size. The offset printing method improves the quality of the printed image by increasing the halftone dot size by a desired amount by providing a relative offset between a device that creates the halftone dots and the surface of the transfer cylinder.

A method for compensating for position-dependent density fluctuations of print nozzles in any inkjet printer by a computer. The computer produces, for all substrates used, compensation profiles for the position-dependent density fluctuations over all print heads of the inkjet printer and applies the compensation profiles to compensate for the position-dependent density fluctuations in the inkjet printer. The computer determines in each case printer-specific or print head-specific influences and print substrate-specific influence factors with a generic reference print substrate, from which a reference compensation profile is produced which depends on the surface coverage and location. From this the computer produces a total compensation profile which is used to compensate for position-dependent density fluctuations.

A method for compensating for defective printing nozzles in an inkjet printing machine by way of a computer. Defective printing nozzles are compensated for by an increased ink drop volume of neighboring printing nozzles and the real positions of the print dots of all printing nozzles are determined and, to compensate for a printing nozzle failure, the required ink drop volumes of the respective neighboring printing nozzles are calculated for every printing nozzle as a function of the real positions of the print dots of the respective neighboring printing nozzles. In addition to increased ink drop volumes of the respective neighboring printing nozzles, reduced ink drop volumes are calculated for the respective next but one printing nozzles and all ink drop volumes are calculated based on the print dots of the respective printing nozzles.

A computer-assisted method for compensating for position-dependent density fluctuations in printing nozzles of inkjet printing heads in an inkjet printing machine includes implementing pre-compensation for all color separations of a print image during the halftoning process in the pre-print department on the basis of a pre-defined density compensation profile by using a pre-print computer. Online compensation is implemented for all color separations of the now pre-compensated print image during an on-going production run for producing the print image on the basis of a re-calculated density compensation profile by using a control unit of the inkjet printing machine.

A method for setting up and carrying out a print job on an inkjet printing machine having print heads and a thermal dryer includes printing onto a substrate using water-based black and chromatic inks. First test prints of a first test chart with different area coverage test patches are generated on the substrate using black ink, thermally drying the first test prints at different temperatures and evaluating dried first test prints to determine a dryer operating temperature during the print job. A second test print of a second test chart with different ink amount test patches is generated on the substrate using chromatic inks, thermally drying the second test print at the temperature, and evaluating the dried second test print to determine a total ink amount for operating the print heads during the print job. The machine receives temperature and total ink amount and prints the print job.

A method for producing a control area to prevent scumming of a printing form that can be used for offset printing with dampening solutions, includes producing the control area separately from the printing form and joining the control area to the printing form thereafter. A cut-out is introduced into the printing form and the control area is inserted into the cut-out. A control area and a printing form having a control area are also provided.
