Abstract: Obtaining a restored frame from a degraded frame includes obtaining, for a pixel of the degraded frame, magnitude features based on a first window centered at the pixel. A cardinality N of the magnitude features is at least 1. The magnitude features are used to obtain a pixel-adaptive filter. The pixel-adaptive filter is applied to the pixel to obtain a pixel of the restored frame.

Abstract: Transform prediction with parsing independent coding includes generating a reconstructed frame and outputting the reconstructed frame. Generating the reconstructed frame includes entropy decoding transform blocks for the reconstructed frame, entropy decoding decoded transform identifiers for the transform blocks, obtaining transform-specific probability distributions for available transforms, and, for a current transform block from the transform blocks, identifying a current remapped transform identifier from the decoded transform identifiers, identifying a current transform identifier in accordance with the current remapped transform identifier, the transform coefficients from the current transform block, and the transform-specific probability distributions, identifying a current transform in accordance with the current transform identifier; inverse transforming, in accordance with the current transform, the current transform block to obtain a current residual block and obtaining a current reconstructed block using the current residual block. Generating the reconstructed frame includes including the current reconstructed block in the reconstructed frame.

Abstract: A processor identifies keypoints on a hand in a two-dimensional image that is captured by a camera. A three-dimensional pose of the hand is determined using locations of the keypoints to access lookup tables (LUTs) that represent potential poses of the hand as a function of the locations of the keypoints. In some embodiments, the keypoints include locations of tips of fingers and a thumb, joints that connect phalanxes of the fingers and the thumb, palm knuckles that represent a point of attachment of the fingers and the thumb to a palm, and a wrist location that indicates a point of attachment of the hand to a forearm. Some embodiments of the LUTs represent 2D coordinates of the fingers and the thumb in corresponding finger pose planes as a function of the locations of the tips of the fingers or thumb relative to the corresponding palm knuckles.
